how are you hunting? 12 gauge and a .22 are for different techniques.

I seem to prefer to limp my way back to civilization by any means necessary. :dunno: blown axle, blown trans, water pumps, alternators, bad radiators, etc. most all on the daily commute. The blown ring teeth in the Dana 35 were fun. :fs1: Worst out-of-the-way-fix was the water pump I replaced at a truck stop parking lot on 80/90 on the way back from Moab. (not the cool truck stops with restaurants or even gas, this was a glorified parking lot filled with sleeping semi drivers). And that was after an evening of continuously putting the belt back on after the pulley chewed off a rib and spit out the belt. that's fun to do... on the side of the freeway... in the dark. :ack: Eventually gave up when both my original and my spare belts only had 3 or 4 ribs each, called for reinforcements and spent my 3rd night of the trip in the truck. The next day Mike drove 3 hours to me and we fetched a new pump and belt from a not-so-local Autozone. Then i drove home. :D

yeah, well, in your case the parameters are so extreme that it's hard to confirm the correlation. :D Where are the mythbusters on this one?

It's still funny :yes: , I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that "bear spray" (and not just any ol' pepper spray) is incredibly effective. :thumbsup:

Or you could simply pop off the cover, pull the C-clip, slide the collar and fork to the locked position, then reinstall the C-clip to keep it there. Done. Never have to worry about vacuum lines again. :D

My old Peugeot would give me headaches when it got low on oil.

Just be aware that a 4.0 swap requires an entire 4.0 XJ, so keep an eye on your local craigslist.

For those who are cusious, actual "bear spray" works better than a .44 or a shotgun. :thumbsup: It'll stop the biggest baddest Grizzly in its tracks. It'll also seriously hurt any lesser animals, so don't ever use it on dogs. :no: while I'm rambling on about this subject, I carry a can of "dog spray" with me on walks and it works just as well on dogs. All aggression instantly stops as they try to figure out what the hell just happened.

I notice a certain white MJ in both of those. :D

Oh good. It looks like they got the guard rails in. :D When I was there, the road was paved, but the rails hadn't been completed yet. Quite a fun drive with nothing between you and the thousand foot plummet.

no. 3100 is a more likely number for the total 92 MJs made. 952 '92s were made in the calender year 1992. the rest of the 92s were made in the calender year 1991. And these numbers aren't set in stone either, since Jeep continues to resist giving out any data on the production numbers of a 20 year old truck. :dunno: :fs1:

the "hardest" part will be squirting on a new gasket so it won't leak oil afterward. While you're pulling the cover off, pull the C-clip, push the fork and collar over to the engaged position, then reattach the C-slip to hold it engaged all the time. Then you'll never have to worry about it being engaged or not. :thumbsup: And in case you're wondering, no, this won't affect your 4wd or 2wd manners except that 4wd will always be there when you pull the lever. :D all modern Jeeps come with a solid axle shaft on that side. The CAD was a mistake that never should have happened. who's got a link to the thread with those pictures?

the bigger tires negate any fair comparison.

my best guess, assuming it's for real, is that it was dropped from a crane and one of the workers snapped the photo. p.s. I watched a car get run over by a tank twice and the door glass survived (until the third time :D ).
