  2. I thought I saw that hellcreek was making a full length AAL for MJs.
  3. If you're going to DD it, spend some coin and get a complete and decent quality kit. Going half-assed can produce some strange driving quirks.
  4. I thought there was a diff between XJ and MJ crossovers. no? :dunno:
  5. Do you have recovery tow points front and rear? If not try to stay off the trails. Stick to the play areas. There's plenty to do and you'll be far less likely to get hung up and ruin your (and those around you's) day.

  7. could be a vacuum leak.
  8. :waving:
  9. Chrysler's latest spec for older AX-15s is 10W30 motor oil. Feel free to use a full syn version of that.
  10. You could try searching car-part.com for other WJ-only items and calling those yards about the arms. The WJ metal sleeves will need to be trimmed a bit to MJ specs. And this probably isn't required, but while I was in there I trimmed the arms and the axle a bit for maximum articulation. :D
  11. If you're looking for stock length control arms, I'd go for some arms from a junkyard WJ. Strong boxed design and a bend for tire clearance.
  12. Carly, Perri, and Kitty (who passed away last winter). Carly is my co-driver on wheelin' trips. :D
  13. The neighbor seems to have upgraded his signal. It works great (when it works). :D
  14. 4.10s should work great for you. But in the interim, grabbing a 3.55 geared rear axle and throwing it in would still be better than it is now. As mentioned, if they aren't there already trailer brakes should be on your to-do list.
  15. yup.
  16. As Correy said, bad idea. It's not easy to get your hands on the parts to convert without buying a 4x4 AX-15 to scavenge them from. Keep at it, you'll find one eventually.
  17. Are you referring to the control arms?
  18. Dunno. :dunno: It lists at Lowes for 700 and was on sale 50 off, but then my bro-in-law says he knows someone at the loganville Lowes and can get a decent discount. He picked it up and brought it over so I don't know what precisely he paid.
  19. A little JB Weld and it'll be good as new. :D
  20. well, here it is. The more I'm around it, the more I really really like it. Truly an engineering marvel. It could use a bit more instruction in the instructions, thankfully I've got years and years of GI Joe and Legos experience to fall back on. :brows: Light years beyond the $250-300 models I was looking at before. You can sit on the side trays! you can pick it up using the side trays. :D very solid feeling. Only time will tell how well it'll hold up, but it looks like it'll be a family heirloom of sorts.
  21. which rep is that?
  22. Make sure it's not leaking out the back of the valve cover.
  23. that pic was from mid-build.
  24. 4wd is disengaged the instant you yank the lever (assuming the linkage is in ok shape). If the light stays on it might indicate that the CAD is sticking. No biggie. Personally I would just flip the CAD to be engaged all the time and never worry about it again. :D
