  1. yup. while it's always possible to break a dana 44, it's definitely not like the 35 where you're on borrow time. :D
  2. what parts does the hellcreek lift come with?
  3. your control arms don't look quite long enough for the amount of lift. the tire isn't quite centered in the wheelwell. :dunno:
  4. thanks, but I've already got myself a rust-free empty shell or glorious possibilities. :D I was looking at this one as a simple-fix-runner (and yes, swapping out the rear axle counts as an "easy" fix to me). Tis a glorious time for anyone looking to collect clean project MJs (and has money).
  5. yeah. it's just that this one was real close to my parents place in GA. :( Just wait til I have money, and a trailer, and a tow rig. :D
  6. have you done any work to it recently? did it do this suddenly? or get progressively worse?
  7. Well, at least I now know what happened to the truck. found it on CL today. new owner fixed what was supposed to be wrong with the rear axle and surprise, surprise, it's still broken. :shake: regardless of this, the price has mysteriously jumped up a bit, but it doesn't matter since I've got no money. Oh well.
  8. actually, since most 31" tires aren't really 31" tall, they are darn close. :D Just a bit narrower.

Did you throw a club card at him?
  11. try his email: xjs4ever@yahoo.com
  12. Use a relay to power the fan. most switches would die under that much ampage.
  13. I like the foglights.
  14. found it, but upon closer inspection there is a crack in it (I got it with a pile of other parts in a trade). looks like the previous owner set the engine down and dented the pan. :( it's fixable, but I'm not sure if you still want it.
  15. try all they might, that thing looks like it came out of a junkyard wars episode. like 5 different cars all welded together. :shake:
  16. Try getting a hold of Rick (xjs4ever). he knows more of the trails. plus it sounds like he could use a day off too.
  17. I though they had already succeeded?

    Chat room!...

probably. since the title says 9pm eastern :D
  19. I'm envious. the only rig I have that my dad was the original owner is a 97 minivan. :(
  20. Time to cover your house in nerf foam. :D
  21. I liked Slaughterhouse, but then, that's the only CO trail I've done. :D
  22. what condition are your brake lines? especially where they run past the gas tank?
  23. depends. some Jeepers have swapped in the 8.8 and ran it as-is. Others have found there to be too much rear brakes and needed to add an adjustible proportioning valve. (summit racing has one I believe) the front valve in an MJ may look like a prop valve, but it's really just a splitter. Are you eliminating the rear prop valve or keeping it?
  24. If you're going to Aussie the front, look into getting the later model Dana 30 shafts with the bigger 297 U-joints (if you haven't already).
  25. We had a vibration in the liberty (only happened at around 55 mph) that turned out to be a dry rear U-joint.
