at this point in time, if you can find the parts you need and buy them, you did good. those prices are pretty decent for junkyard stuff.
  2. how was the teeter? always wanted to do that.

and the braces that go inside the door for the mirrors wouldn't be a horrible purchase either.

be sure to grab the plastic chrome trim bit that goes behind the corner lights. not the bigger part that goes behind the headlights, just the corner section.
  5. that's precisely the "what" of which I speak. sometimes it's hard to find someone that knows how to actually try.
  6. make sure you scuff, clean, prime and paint. don't skip any steps on anything you plan to use.
  7. luck of the draw sometimes with finding someone that actually knows what they are doing.
  8. those are pretty rare these days. best to put an ad in the wanted section and see if anyone has any.
  9. Libertys are pretty common, but the CRDs make MJs look like F-150s when it comes to rarity. less than 16k were ever sold in the US.
  10. 4.5 leaves plus a 6" shackle will get... close. what factors lead to choosing specifically a 6" lift?
  11. everyone finds that rust. I think it's time to change up my signature
  12. as much as we tend to anthropomorphize our trucks, it's important to remember that they are merely a collection 100,000 old parts frequently made by the lowest bidder then stuck together some 30 years ago that need to be arranged in the correct order with perfect connections in order to simply drive us to the store. at least it's not one of those rigs with an engine that likes to self destruct. I'm also into CRD Libertys. we have a ton of wiring issues PLUS parts are super expensive PLUS the valves or belt can pop at any time and eat your block.
  13. you'll need a complete and good running 97+ XJ. next you'll gut the truck almost completely (I think you can keep the ebrake assembly?), then weld in the needed chunks of the XJ firewall and install all of the XJ stuff. if you peruse the link in my signature or search the projects section you'll find lots of threads covering the details.

    Garage art

yeah, I wouldn't dare put most of this into a garage. maybe someday I'll be able to see the garage walls enough to hang some parts. maybe.

just boring stuff hanging on the garage walls, but I do have the nos wall I've been working on. although it's spread to multiple walls lately...
  16. hypothetically speaking you should be fine with either. Mopar parts should last 100k+, not a measly 10k.
  17. they are literally exactly as important as the power wire yet lots of guys neglect them. out of sight, out of mind I guess
  18. yes, so what's the hold up? grab that vin!
  19. suuuuuper nice how close will it be to the diff?
  20. we call that a 20 footer. looks great from 20ft away. all my Jeeps are like that.
  21. I used rustolium "bedliner" for the flares in my KJ. can't imagine a worse product for a bedliner (the surface is far too much like sandpaper for my tastes), but makes for a cool paint.
  22. Jeep owner literally wins award, immediately wants to mess with it. lol. factory bars are rare as heck and pricey when you find one. the aftermarket will still look period correct so it all depends on your patience.
  23. grounds are important
