  1. Why do you post: " My Comanches: 2nd Louey 1987 SB Sporttruck 2.5L/AX-4 2wd (for now) 3.55 D35 205/75R/15 with studs and new windshield and headliner. First Louey 1988 SB Sporttruck 4.0L/BA10/5 2wd (for now) 3.07 D35 235/75R/15 on steel wheels 90 MJ LB parts rig. 107K miles rustbucket from the belt 4.0/Auto with matching front axle for 2Lt. " in every reply you make?
  2. That is an XJ bump stop I pictured. Which front springs did you use?
  3. This is what the bump stop is supposed to look like. The ones you have are way too long.
  4. My thoughts exactly...

    Tire sizes?

They are all different, i.e. some 33" manufacturer's tires are taller than 33", some are under. Decide on which tire you want, go to TireRack.com, search for that tire, then look at the specs. One of the entries will be the actual diameter of the tire.
  6. You mean Pocahontas?
  7. I've been pondering what to do with the door panel upholstery for years Wahoo. I have the Laredo interior with the gray tweed panels and want to replace the cloth tweed on both the seats and door panels with a darker gray vinyl and leave the rest as is. I love the way earl*t, one of my favorite trucks ever, did it.
  8. No prep work there. Should have left it alone.
  9. ^^ Okay, you win.
  10. ^^ This. I think it sucks big time cutting up a nice MJ like that, especially a rare Eliminator. If this guy is such a great fabricator, cut up an XJ and add a bed.
  11. Well, I was trying to stick to suspension and steering, but since you've entered other areas, some more "nice to have" upgrades include: Power windows, mirrors, locks, and antenna Full console and instrument cluster Rear sliding window LED or H4 headlights w. a HD relay wiring harness 31" tires on Ravine or Turbine OEM wheels 93-98 ZJ quick ratio (12.7:1) steering gear box Larger alternator and mains cables Quality 3-core radiator AND A stroker engine with all the bolt-ons All these things and more are doable by most everyone with average skills. Just takes a little time and cash.
  12. ^^ The recipe for success. The only thing I would add is a 28mm XJ or ZJ sway bar up front.
  13. Bullcrap! From what I've seen of your different vehicles, they all look pristine. And thank you.
  14. Welcome aboard. When you get a chance, create a signature for your rig so we all know what you are driving. https://comancheclub.com/forums/topic/51707-cc-members-create-a-signature-to-describe-your-mj/
  15. Old post - a way to get rid of the rusty 2WD dust cap on your front Ravine wheels: "There's another way if you don't want change knuckles (I didn't). You can't buy the OEM caps anymore, and there are no low profile caps; they will all stick through the hole somewhat. One solution I found is to use Mr. Gasket Chrome Dust Caps. They are just a tiny bit small, but you can cut a strip of aluminum from a beer can and fold it around the inner lip of the hub for a shim and they will tap in firmly and stay forever. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mrg-2485/overview/ They look better than the original dust caps sticking through the hole.
  16. Captain Obvious says: "Any inline valve will cause increased restriction from turbulence over a straight line flow".
  17. The ratio stamp or tag on any axle is only good if it's been verified by popping off the cover and physically eyeballing the gears.
  18. If you are going there anyhow, sure, why not?
  19. That does look good. 31x9.5x15 tires would work well on those wheels....
  20. Yeah, but he would have to pay for that help. Support your local small businesses.
  21. The Boston Kennedys Bo?
  22. Either replace it with one of these (dbl. ended stud direct replacement) or drill it out and install steel nutserts in the floor pan.
