That would be a great trip - CA to GA via IL. I thought I had seen pictures of the Charger before. Didn't know it was a drag car. That would take some fuel.
I don't want you to leave, but I'll help you any way I can. :)
I could borrow Cal's truck and drive the MJ/trailer as far as maybe Phoenix. Or as mnkyboy suggested, I'd be willing to drive the Charger all the way to GA, then fly back on my own dime.
I did the WJ swap. It was pretty much a bolt-on in my 92 MJ. Didn't have to modify anything. Just had to make the brake lines.
I know the 96-01 XJs had the dual diaphragm booster. But I know people who have put the WJ booster and master in their late model XJs and they say it is an improvement over the late model XJ setup.
So for the same amount of work, I say go with the WJ setup
I got a replacement carpet from that website. Standard carpet with standard backing. It fit very well. Just be careful when you cut the hole out for the shifter(s).
It has held up very well since I put it in 4 years ago. I have some bad stains on it. I may get another one in black to replace the grey one.
Used the truck to go to UPS and pick up an Xmas present from BFG. The four 245/75/16s are going on the MJ when I downsize. I went straight to a tire shop to mount these on some Moab wheels. The other two tires - 35x12.5x15s - I'll probably sell.
I've been getting a lot of these e-mails in my mail.com account listing the sender as one of my friends. I never click on the link.
So WHOSE e-mail account has been hacked? Mine or my friends'?
Congrats Bo! When you left CA for GA, you talked about coming home to CA. Now that you're back, you want to go back to GA? :)
Good luck wherever you end up, but I hope you stay in CA. Love you, man.
I realized whose it was after I put two and two together. It was number 16 and it belongs to a guy who lives in Bakersfield. He goes by Goatman over on NAXJA. He was down here working on a KOH Cherokee. Last time I saw this MJ, it was on a trailer. So its great to see that its running and dependable enough to drive it down here from Bakersfield
The first week I shaved my head, I had a few cuts and scrapes. I used some pure aloe vera gel to ease the sting. I was offloading trucks for FedEx at the time and I wore a ball cap because I wasn't used to walking around bareheaded yet.
It was really hot inside the warehouse and I was sweating up a storm. I took off my cap to wipe the sweat off my dome and my head was a gooey mess. The sweat had pushed the aloe vera gel back out of my pores and into my cap. The people I was working with were like WTF? I had to go wash off my head and throw away the cap.
When I negotiated the price over the phone, I wasn't doing it totally sight unseen. I have a friend in Vegas and he went over to check the truck out for me. So I knew it was in very nice condition. I asked the lady if she would go $2K because I was taking a 4-hour bus ride. She was asking $2.5K.
One thing my friend did not notice when he went to look at it was the presence of a D44. I noticed it and had to fight hard to contain my surprise.
Interesting note - the PO recently e-mailed me and asked how the truck was doing. I sent her a link to my build thread here on CC. She said that she was very happy that I love the truck as much as she did.
