  1. I'd say that I have less than $250 in my York OBA. That's including compressor, bracket, air tank, hose, fittings, etc. One thing I did notice about CO2. It seemed that it would leak out of the tires over a period of time. Something about the size of CO2 molecules, as compared to air molecules. I asked a biology professor and he said that CO2 molecules were smaller. He thought I was  when I told him about putting CO2 in tires. A couple of guys I know will put nothing but nitrogen into their tires. I don't think I'd ever go that far.
  2. I had a 10-lb. Powertank for a few years. The price to fill it was as high as $18 at the local welding supply store. But then my friends would ask to refill their tires. I can't say "no", and I can't charge them. Then the CO2 would run out at the most inopportune time. In my trail XJ, I installed a York OBA system with a 2.5 gallon tank. Works great and after the initial cost, I have unlimited free air (as long as the engine is running ;) ). And I can run air tools in short bursts. A friend has a Viair system in his MJ. That thing takes forever to fill up tires. And it cost more than $300. I have less than that in my York setup. So having seen all three types of systems at work, I like the York setup the best. Of course, it would be good to have ANY of the three, as opposed to having none.
  3. For some reason, Kragen calls it an "ignition temperature sender". Here's the part number. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDeta ... er=TS82771 Be very careful not to snap off the connector on the new one when installing it. I didn't break the new one. But I did break the old one when taking it off.
  4. My first car in high school was a 65 Corvair Monza. It was an ugly puke green color. Took it to Earl Scheib and he painted it midnight blue...for $29.95!
  5. Thanks for the welcomes guys. This is a great site. What's up Scotty?? Didn't know your son had an MJ. Come to think of it, I didn't know you had a son.
  6. I like the Lakers, but after last night, they don't deserve the championship. They can play well at times. But they just don't have that killer instinct. They tend to relax too much when they have a big lead.
  7. On my XJ D44, I used Ford Explorer rear discs. Before that, I had D44A ZJ rear discs on an 8.25.
  8. Thanks. For now, it'll be a DD. Just going to put on the Rubi rims and wheels this weekend. It's just fun to drive around. So many people are like, "I didn't know Jeep made a pickup truck." Just put some Sony 5.25" speakers in the doors and Alpine 3x6 (?) speakers in the side panels today. Sounds much better now. I'll be installing a new HU and satellite radio this weekend. I'm sure the MJ will be my trail rig some day... ;)
  9. I'm planning on doing the WJ booster swap. It'll fit in the MJ with very minor modifications and is a improvement even over the XJ dual diaphragm booster. A few local guys have done this swap in their XJs. And I helped a buddy put one in his MJ. The only problem is the cost, unless you can find a wrecked WJ.
  10. Well, the MJ had a blown head gasket and I couldn't pass smog. So I took the opportunity to swap on a rebuilt head and my old Borla header to replace a cracked manifold. Passed smog today and got my license plates. I've also taken off the side mouldings, stripes, and lettering. I think it looks a lot cleaner this way. I also swapped in a full gauge cluster and installed a Redline tuning hood strut kit. Lifted the rear two inches by adding XJ main leafs into the MJ packs. Going to get some coil spacers so I can throw on some Rubicon rims and MT/Rs.
  11. On an XJ, it's 17.5" front and 17" rear. I measured my stock MJ and came up with 19" front and 18.5" rear
  12. Measure from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the flare. On a stock XJ, it's 17.5" in the front and 17" in the rear. Which brings me to another question. I just measured my MJ, which I assumed to be at stock height. But it's 19" in the front and 18.5" in the rear. So that's 1.5" more than a stock XJ. Was this the norm on an MJ?
  13. When you buy the steering box, you should specify a 99 V8 Durango 4X4.
  14. Hey, I know you! :) Have you seen my new MJ Ron? I'm NOT cutting it up like you.
  15. Just picked up my new MJ yesterday. I have a 98 2-door XJ also, which is my trail rig. Found the MJ in Las Vegas. Took a bus up there and drove it back to SoCal. It's a 1992 shortbed with 4.0 H.O., automatic, 4WD, AC, cruise control, and 147K miles. Being in Vegas all its life, the clearcoat is peeling. But it has a straight, rust-free body. And it has a Dana 44.
