Comanche Fan

Comanche Fan (3/11)

  1. Was at the pick-n-pull today in Tampa FL (50th ST & Causeway) and saw the nicest 91 Comanche Eliminator EVER. I have never been this close to such a nice Comanche. It wasn't in the parking lot, it was in the freggin yard!!! Paint was awesome, Eliminator decals were nice, interior was clean except for someone pulled apart the dash already. It had 135K on the clock. Whoever owned it, turned it in for the cash for clunkers program. Would love to see this truck back on the road!!
  2. Thought of fan clutch, but when I tried to turn the fan by hand there was some resisitance which made me think it was ok, but I will replace it..... Thanks for info on coolant fill
  3. 210, really! cool then..... mine has always been at 180. I put new tank/bottle on and new cap, how much coolant should I ad? half full ? full? Thanks fo all the help!!
  4. First time it has run hot in MONTHS. Today, I let it sit for about 5 minutes running....get back in and temp gauge reads 210. Shut it down for a little while and I notice that the tank (88 MJ) looks like it wants to burst and coolant is seaping out. Start it back up, temp is normal, stop at a light and temp goes back to 210. Start to go and temp drops. Next light same thing, but at the light I upped the RPMs and temp dropped to normal. It does have a new radiator with-in 8 months. When I got home I alsp replaced the bottle and cap..... I bought a new one a few months ago and did not replace yet b/c I had no issue since new radiator. Cannot remember if there is a fan shroud..... Thought it was weird that temp was normal at higher RPMs?????
  5. water pump?? MJ started running hot today..... was stopped at a light, temp was creeping up, but when I upped the RPMs, the temp dropped to normal....... Thanks in advance
  6. I have Grand Cherokee wheels on my 88 MJ 2wd.... when I had new tires put on we noticed a spacer behind the front wheels..... the PO must have installed to give clearance for the center cap when putthing those wheels on........ therefore both of my front tires stick out further than the rear
  7. I'm in Plant City
  8. FIXED IT....... It was getting VERY weak spark...... pulled the distributor cap and there was condensation.... I dried it up, cleaned the contacts with sandpaper and it fired right up... must have been a coincidence???? Thanks for all the help!!
  9. Looks like everything is connected properly.... still no start. Cleaned the TB with TB cleaner in the can.... cleaned the IAC sensor w/ sensor cleaner..... I did leave the TPS in while cleaning the TB w/ TB cleaner, could doing that have messed something up??
  10. I just went out and took the IAC sensor of the other MJ and put it in the one that I am having issues with..... It turns over like 5 or 6 times, "chokes out" (for lack of better term) then repeats..... but never starts All I did was clean the throttle body and IAC sensor :dunno:
  11. Thanks..... I am actually reading through your PDF on the 88 as well.
  12. I do hear the fuel pump....... how do I test for fuel or fire?
  13. Was changing the airfilter today, decided to go a step further and clean the throttle body. Took the IAC sensor off, cleaned it, then cleaned the throttle body. Now it will turn over, but doesn't....... what did I do?? Thanks in advance!
  14. jeepco..... you beat me by $25
