  1. Waiting my turn to do Escalator on Hell's Revenge in Moab last Tuesday. Then flopping on said Escalator. :)
  2. Not so. Any 97+ door will bolt right up to the old style hinge. And it really is a piece of cake. Ive done the swap on my old 96 XJ and my 92 MJ. If *I* can do it, you gotta know it's easy.
  3. Last time I needed one of those springs, I went to the junkyard, found the newest XJ they had, and pulled the spring out of the lower hose. And they didn't charge me for it.
  4. Nope, that last hole is already there on both sides.
  5. On that first one, click on the link. The title says Jeep Comanche. He's looking to trade FOR a Cherokee.
  6. Yes! Makes it much easier to install and torque the bolts. I used a cherry picker and an extra pair of hands to lower it into position.
  7. Wheeled my work truck today. Had to drive on a dirt road to drop off some lumber at a remote job site. So it was "off road". Also had to maneuver the forklift on dirt, roots, and rocks. :D
  8. Lifts off easily with one person. Better to have two people though.
  9. Cut the hinges like this. Then you'll be able to lift the doors off.
  10. Just did a search for "Commanche" on the local CL and came up with three different trucks. No great deals though.
  11. When I was looking for a 91-92 shortbed MJ, I wasn't having much luck searching on CL for a "Comanche". When I entered "Commanche" in the search bar, up popped the perfect truck in Las Vegas. The ad was a couple weeks old, so I thought there was no way it could possibly still be available. But I called anyways. The lady said she had not received much interest in the truck (probably because of the misspelling). So I'm kinda glad that people misspell Comanche. But yeah, it's a little irritating to see Commanche or Comanchee.
  12. (Cherokee's above 92 used spring-loaded hinges) Oh, this is not correct either. Hood props all the way to 2001.
  13. Just to let you know, I'm not being a jerk here. I'm actually trying to be helpful. :) There was no vacuum disconnect in 1992. By most accounts, the vacuum disconnect was discontinued in 1991. (note for D44's: All MJ's equipped with the stock D44 come with the Metric Ton Package) Is this the one I should re-read? As this sentence is written, it is not correct. This makes it sound as if all MJs with a factory Dana 44 had the Metric Ton package. It should be written as "All MJs with the Metric Ton package came with a Dana 44". Or "All MJs came equipped with a Dana 44 if the Metric Ton package was ordered".
  14. There are a few errors in there. Not all Dana 30s are vacuum disconnect. Not all trucks with a factory Dana 44 have the Metric Ton package. A Dana 44 could be had all the way up to 92. And the Pioneer was also available in 91 and 92. Those are the ones that I noticed anyways. :)
  15. Here's my white truck with black Allied d-window beadlocks.
  16. A buddy of mine rode in it recently. He says it rides super nice.
  17. Looks familiar, huh Don? :) Scott IS a member here. He joined up last time we were talking about his truck.
  18. No, your MJ and XJ both have a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. You'd have to use wheel adapters. Only Wranglers up to 2006 had the same 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern.
  19. I spotted one a couple days ago in Santa Ana. When I passed it, there was a lot of crap in the bed and cab. Looked like the person was living in it.
  20. I had a Reflexxion hood too for a while. Got it through 4 Wheel Parts, so there were no freight charges. I put the hood on along with some Redline Tuning hood struts. I would just let the hood rest on the wiper arm very gently. I ended up trading it to a buddy of mine in exchange for some axle work. So there is one of these hoods up in Washington state...somewhere.
  21. Swaybar drop brackets. They relocate the swaybar away from the coil springs.
  22. No, I DON'T know. That why I'm kinda throwing it out there and asking. I went to a couple of sites which say that the ignition cylinders they sell don't interchange. But, of course, it's possible that they're going strictly by model years.
  23. No, but if you get the ignition cylinder and the two door cylinders from any one-key XJ, even a half-blind locksmith can easily make up a pair of new keys to fit those cylinders. But are the earlier GM ignition cylinders the same size as the 91+ cylinders? I'm not sure if the later cylinder will fit into the earlier steering column.
  24. Like Eagle said, the pitman arm doesn't sit flush to the box. There is a bit of a gap where you can see some exposed splines. That's normal.
