Ax-15 From 99 Xj Into Mj?
onlyinajeep726 replied to Skorpyo's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you're currently running a BA-10/5 (which I assume you are based on the swap at hand), you'll have to swap the master and slave cylinder system to match the AX15. Other than that, it's pretty much a direct swap. Keep your current flywheel, may want to change the pilot bushing though. I'd also highly recommend changing out the AX15's gear oil. Even though it's got 11K on the clock, it would be a good time to knock that out. RedLine MT-90 (API GL-4) is a very good synthetic oil that will provide smoother shifts at all temperature ranges, including freezing. Do NOT use GL-5 rated fluid as it will eat the brass syncros in the AX15. Make sure to grab the crossmember with the AX15 as it's specific to that tranny. -
Once again, the grille is upside down.... But it's got the porno red interior lol.

http://greensboro.craigslist.org/cto/4195831653.html 1989 Jeep Comanche Pick-up truck - $1500 (Greensboro) 1989 jeep comanche odometer: 137000 manual transmission For sale here is a 89 Comanche Pickup, 2wd, 2.5L 4 cylinder 4 speed. The truck has somewhere in the ball park of 137,000 miles. Diamond plate tool box included. It will run and drive, but the gas tank does need to be replaced. It's relatively small, you can find one for around $90. there was no head liner when i bought it, and the roof is a bit rusty. (pictured) The wind-shield is cracked, but will still pass inspection. It passed inspection In July, but I've been driving another car and its been parked. This thing was fun to drive and got really good gas mileage, but i have no need for a truck anymore so contact me with any questions. A Copy Of The Parking Brake Recall?

Adjust the cable nuts on underneath the truck and then see what happens. That's what did it for me. More tension on the cable and the brake wants to pop up... -

Swap in a 3.4L from a Firebird/Camaro. Takes way less time than replacing all 31 miles of vacuum line... :laughin: -

1988 Comanche - First Jeep.

Not that I know of. The HVAC box has baffles that open and close depending on if you want heat or A/C. With that said, if you're operating the A/C, the heater core is blocked off and air flow is redirected to only blow across the A/C core and vice versa. -

Well everyone here now knows all about mine lol. -
Wow guys, I'm not the only one that does that? Sweet! (Sometimes I look twice!)

This "flicker" you're referring to is called an oil slinger. Looks like this, right? Yes, you clean and reuse your old one. I did when I did my stroker for my XJ. Installs like seen below: As far as reusing your oil pan gasket, you should be fine to reuse it so long as you don't damage it removing the pan. It's rubber and from the sounds of it, it hasn't been on there very long, so it's by no means unusable.

Perhaps your manifold bolts are loose, and the spilled oil made its way by the manifold gasket and when you started the Jeep, oil got sucked into the intake ports and some got burnt off the exhaust manifold. Just an idea.

A Copy Of The Parking Brake Recall?
onlyinajeep726 replied to XJs4Ever's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Oyaji, I'm in with that if you can make something happen. Clearly, I have a trail of emails that show the initial resistance to my inquiry. I'm sure as y'all have alluded to, I will probably have issues getting the part(s) needed to correct my problem. Could turn into something serious if we wanted it to. On a separate but related note, if they really can't fix my brake, perhaps they can retrofit a TJ foot brake to replace the faulty MJ brake. I've heard the TJ ones are still available new from the dealer. But yes, I think if it's a known issue, common part numbers across all year MJ's, testimonials from you all and the initial attempts to stonewall me, we might just have something to work with here. -

Haha. Well, the only problem with that is I have no interest in any of the newer Jeeps lol. Well, I'm lying a bit... the SRT8 Grand Cherokee has always been interesting to me. :brows: I doubt that I could get Chrysler to give me a $60k+ vehicle for not having parts necessary to fix a 28+ year old vehicle lol. -

If you're putting a tach from a 6-cyl. into a 4-cyl. Jeep, your best bet is to get a cluster from a '90 XJ or MJ. They have that little potentiometer on the tach circuit that be adjusted to show the correct RPM's. I've done it with success before I did my engine swap in my MJ. -

Sorry, I didn't mean to take over your post here. I have to thank you because until you made this post, I was unaware of this recall. I've continued to post here because I feel like the information will be helpful to other members who may be unaware or have had issues with a company like Chrysler playing hard ball. Anyway, here's your picture posted for others to see. -
What A Waste....

Wonder if it's got the rear axle under it still... Could be cool to engineer a way to run a drive shaft to it and make it a powered trailer for off road affairs.
