mini beast Project: Stock To Beast!!!
CWLONGSHOT replied to MiNi Beast's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
On first look and before your responce about welding, I agree with Pat. More is needed for the LCA mount. Even welding, remember that its not a real frame, so although welding is good. Its not as good as if you where welding to a real frame. Nice write up and great pics!! REAL nice welds on the perches!!! I do have one other comment... Hope you got a mega alt on this puppy!!! OMG!!!   CW -
JEEPCO IS 21 WEDNESDAY APRIL 9, 2008. CONGRATS MAN

Happy Freakin' Birthday man!!!!!    CW -
One thing to remember about outside storage is mother nature..... Occasionally remove it and run it up and down and apply lubrication. One really bad place to mount it is in the front of the vehicle. it gets bombarded with everything not to mention its susceptible to impacts. not a good place. But behind the cab like we all have it is about the best for the MJ. CW

Grand cherokee knuckles on cherokee axle?
CWLONGSHOT replied to ironhead03's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Back up the bus fellas... Jeep ZJ's where 93 - 98. Then the WJ was 99 - 04 across the bpoard, the ZJ is the SAME as TJ. Its a Lo-pinion D30 and should exchange with 91and up XJ/MJ. Even work with ANY XJ / MJ D30 as long as you keep all the 95 parts from the knuckles out. The WJ is whats different. The rotors, brakes and lug spacing are BIGGER and there-fore DIFFERENT!! CW -
Stay clear of this one...one day its gonna blow and it aint gonna be purdy!! CW

That belongs to a friend and a guy in my local club, BIC. Yes it is is a great looking bumper. its built by another local guy, DETOURS off-road here in CT. he has tried a couple times to get Comanche specific parts going. But with little support, I don't think it has gone too far with it... My winch mount is also from him. Its called the back bone. CW

I have one, but cannot really measure it, sorry. Its installed and getting an accurate measurement the way its routed would prove a daunting task... CW

Cranking but no spark.

I have a feeling I TOO am headed for this... NO reason to say that...its running SUPER GREAT right now. Even getting great mileage!! I got 20 MPG for a recent trip. Remember, That's on 33's and 4:46 gears!! I drove at 65 on speedo all highway. I keep it in the glove box... Along with a couple long extensions and a wobble, just in case!!! CW -
The length of the cable..... Yea, now smack your self in the back of the head. I bet you KNEW the answer to that one!! NO PROBLEM, its all good!! CW

Grand cherokee knuckles on cherokee axle?
CWLONGSHOT replied to ironhead03's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
except the gc has OTK steering...which is better for drive angles with lift. Whats WJ's not ZJ's.. They had the same LO-Pinion D30 as the TJ. So the knuckles would be a direct fit as long as you watch the rotor dates as Eagle pointed out. CW -
Ford Ranger light bar on my MJ...
CWLONGSHOT replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
DITTO!!! It could be pretty easily done by cutting squarely and sleeving it in the inside and re-welding. -
This is GOOD ADVICE!! If you are going to be doing your own drum brakes, get in the habit of replacing ALL SPRINGS EVERYTIME. They live in a climate that is not conducive to a long life for a spring. Large temp variations. For you, I would go all out and replace everything. You have NO IDEA how long they say not working. I would just replace everything, wheel cylinders, all springs, shoes and adjusters. Hopefully the drums them selves, cross bars and emergency brake cable ends are in good shape. You may want to get the drums turned. If they are badly scoured, you may want to go this. If just rusty, you can clean your self. Good luck, CW

Thanks man, Yours is the opinion I thought of when I asked this question. Your spot on about the surcharge...its basically shipping as you say. My biggest reason for the 115V is the buzz box lincoln. It will do a much better job than even the 230V MiG for HD welding. I got a chance to use it tonight!! MAN this thing is NICE!!!!! I welded on a couple 1/4" rings on a trailer I am building. I need them for attachment points for straps. Well I have about 6 on the trailer, I finished all but two when my old welder $#!& the bed. I welded the last two tonight. Well, with the welder set at "3" or 75% power, my tack weld to hold the ring in place burned clean thru it!!!!! I couldn't burn thru it on the highest setting with my old machine!!!! I LIKE IT ALOTT!!! CW

I agree, everything I have ever herd was the '86 model was long bed only...BUT...This IS JEEP, and NOTHING can be set in stone!! When it conserns a jeep...never say never!!! So, YES, based on that, it sure is possible that there was a 6' bed in 1986. CW

I dislocated my knee badly back in '87 playing football. I caught the ball and was on the bottom of the pile of guys. I was politely asking the guy on top of me to "Get someone to take me to the hospital. My leg is broken". While he was still getting off me he said, "How do you know its broken" then very clearly "OH MY GOD!!!" Picture this, I was flat on my stomach with the outside edge of my foot almost touching my waist. It was bent to the side! I blew out my patella, it was located on the inside of my thigh, about two inches up from where it should have been. OUCH, is an under statement. I was lucky, the doc;s where able to relocate and cast it so I haven't needed surgery. But I am in line for a knee replacement. there are three good sized chips under the cap and arthritis set of years ago. It took almost three years for me to loose the cane. I swore I would never run again. To this day it gets swollen after a long day on my feet. Aches anytime the weather make an abrupt change. Good luck with it!!! CW

Never herd of a 223/75X15.. :???: If you mean a 225/75X15 then NO, they are WAY TOO wide. You want a 6 or 7" rim MAX for that tire. You also do not give a letter, like P or LT, but in either case you flatly couldn't get that size mounted on a 10 " wide rim. CW
