What Light Bulb Number goes Where?
CWLONGSHOT replied to ComancheBSJ90's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't care who you are, that right there is funny sheet!!  :D  The 194 bulb is used up front for the side markers, the yellow ones right beside your headlites. You correctly figured out the differences between the 1156 anmd 1157 series of bulbs. CW -
Front YES. Rear NO. The front of the XJ is interchangeable with the MJ. But the rear springs are of a different legnth and arch. I do believe Deaver makes a appropraite MJ rear leaf pac. As I have herd others claim to have such a critter... CW

Understood 100%. But can you explain the sound? Maybe make a recording of it? With out hearing, my first thought was that your CAD was not completely engaging. But unsure without further explinations. CW

Grand Cherokee front sway bars
CWLONGSHOT replied to jtdesigns's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It would be greatly appreciated!! At least LMK, so I can make arrangements for my proqurement. :D :brows: CW -
Prop is just short for proportioning valve. It "bais's" the brakes, USUALLY front to back. But in the case iof the MJ it works based on WEIGHT in the bed and only controls the REAR axle. The front, althou it LOOKS like every other prop valve it is not, its just a junction to split the lines front to back. CW

Grand Cherokee front sway bars
CWLONGSHOT replied to jtdesigns's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
don't know the size, but I too would like one and am keeping my eye open for one on boards.. JUST GET A V8 front sway bar and it will be larger than what came on our MJ's. CW -
Sell them to a mall crawler, along with the nuts and bolts Then build a set of rock rails and WELD THEM to the frame. Now you can use them to cilmb in your rig.... :D CW

You know my answer... Its got freakin' fruit on the box for christ sakes!!! It won't pass my lips.... :ack: :ack: Keep lookin' and tastin', soon enough you will realize I speak the truth. Beer is supposed to be dark, flavorful and served in a frosted glass with a good head on it. Things to remember: If it looks like piss, it will likely taste like it. Fruit in beer is fine, if you squat to pee. CW

Rear Spring Sagging?
CWLONGSHOT replied to summerinmaine's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I agree with Eagle and would urge you NOT to spend ANY money on the Rustys leafs. Doing so is a complete waste, ever hear of a silk purse from a sows ear... or even the white parts of chicken $#!& are still $#!& and how about polishing a turd? I think you catch my drift. :D I had the Rustys and bought the Motion 4.5's, I like them. Sounds like the 3.5's may be in your future. I can attest you will be MUCH better off with them than you are with the Rustys crap you now have. :shake: Good luck, CW -
Lower Drop Link Mount Bent
CWLONGSHOT replied to hogelectra's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
OK, now I understand!!  I would say you should be able to bend it. With or with-out heat. Try with-out first see if it moves. Also something comes to mind when you mentioned it touches on the opposite side. Is your MJ lifted? If it is, have you adjusted the axle to be centered under the vehicle? You would do this with either an TB adapter or an adjustable Track Bar. If you haven't centered the axle under the jeep this is also part of your contact issue. Good luck, CW -
:agree: :agree: :agree: :shake: :shake: :shake: :D

Lower Drop Link Mount Bent
CWLONGSHOT replied to hogelectra's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
For the life of me, I do not know what a "lower drop mount link" is... Pics would help... ;) CW -
I have had this delima myself and agree with both previous comments, with one addition. To my eye chopping this off leaves the body lines lacking. Unless your going to add protection attached to the bumper and or rear frame I would not do this. It simply LOOKS bad. CW

Last week this happened to my MJ. I experienced no power when entering the expressway trying to merge with traffic. But mine didnt quit, just didnt have any power. It acted like I was about to run out of gas. I limped allong to the next exit and got off. Upon slowing, I noticed a loud buzzing coming from the gas tank. Looks like my new pump crapped out. Ran down and picked up a new on and threw it in, problem solved, buzzing gone and power is back. Who knows what happened, stuff breaks and aft mkt parts just are not as good a factory stuff... Glad you fixed yours!! CW

I'm back!! Thanks guys, Yea I know how to get "around" the log on issue. But my bigger consern was the fact that it happened and that my accounts where not avalible. Turns out the repair guy didnt find anything he thought could have done what happened... I had Norton and it was running, but there was a virus found and destroyed. The machine has been slow for some time. I was told to or three programs I was running where memory hogs and where removed. Also my Earthlink email software was a issue. SO, we ditched that as well. No biggie as I can access thru the web and keep my addresses. I also found a better and FREE securities program, called AVAST. The repair guy loves at and swears by its effectiveness. The best part of my repair was that I was told the maching should be good for at least three more years!! Now to catch up on all the banter.. CW

Yea.. its dead.... Happened last Thursday. Turned it off and started it up in the AM. Same as always..then I knoticed it asking for a pass word to login from ADMIN page..only thing is, I don't have a pass word and don't normally use that admin page... Then after gathering my sences and looking a bit. I see there is three names of account holders on the screen. Only thing is there should only be mine and the wifes.... Looks like I have MAJOR issues!!! I pulled the DSL plug and called in help. don't know how long it will be down or what if anything can be done. SO, for the time being, I am out of commission. :headpop: :headpop: :headpop: :headpop: :headpop: This is my pops puter I'm on, and its not close enough for me to get reg use. So its too bad for me. I'll be back when mine is fixed or I have a brandy new one.. Just FYI, See ya... CW

I have had Direct TV for almost 10 years. LOVE THEM!!! We just upgraded to a 46" Plasma for the family room and I called them up for a HD Upgrade, something like 200 HD channels for an additional 9.99mo. WOOHOO!!!!! My one complaint is I'm stuck with DSL Internet unless I want to pay for cable TV I will not use!!! Oh well, its not awful but cable IS faster!! :brows: CW

32s are like the red headed step child of the tire world... bigger than a 31 but not a 33. "Inchites" almost ALWAYS sets in and not to many people want this tire... Ever herd of go big or go home... Personally I would not consider this size. Go a bit bigger and get the 33 or stick to the 31's and done look back. IMHO, 33x10.5 is THE tire for the XJ/MJ jeep. Just get the proper BS rim. This is from someone that has been there and done that MANY times over... Good luck, CW
