  1. It looks to me like its time to go back to the instructions and re-check everything. Blhtaz is right, your control arms are not adjusted correctly. Get out the tape measure and start with the wheel base and then get out the angle finder and set the caster for the proper 8-9degrees. THEN, lets see what you have..... IF you cannot get back to stock wheel base and the required caster settings, the lift is either for the wrong application, is designed poorly or welded together wrong. In either case your next step is to contact the seller or manufacturer. CW
  2. I have read this post three times and I still don't know what you said...... Please post a pic, we are all willing to help. Without a picture, this is purely a waste of time. CW
  3. Nice touch!! I got one as well, Thanks man!! CW
  4. Exactly. Thats the most important part the prep, not the type of paint. yes and no , i preped my interior to a T and i still had problems with the duplicolor . that stuf is crap and is not worth the money , i also used the hurcliner on my bed and have been more pleased with it though its about time for a recoat as it has shrunk a bit along with fading but much better than duplicolor . While I do agree that the Hurculiner is a better product. The Duplicolor is a pretty good product as well. Your statement, "not worth the money". Well the stuff is by no means expensive @ 6-8 bucks a can. Heck a quart of Hurculiner goes for about $40 and a gallon for over $100!!! Not to mantion the commercial stuff, that will run you likley many times over what you orig paid for the whole truck!!! Lets keep things in context here. I have use it for YEARS on shotgun, rifle and pistol stocks and the stuff wears like iron in that application. I cannot even tell you how many patrol cars are running arround connecticut with my application of duplicolor truck and bed liner applied to there shotguns stocks. Just before our jeep show lsast summer, I did my MJ's bed with Duplicolor. I did it for astectics. Simply to get a betterlooking bed and didn't expect it to hold up. But to its credit, so far it has. Now I havn't loaded anything really abrasive in there either. I have had a load of mulch, a couple loads of limbs and lawn debris. Many many boxe's of this and that loaded and slid arround in there. No wear marks and only a couple scratches that I would have expected any home applied coating to have scratched. The first MAJOR step is PREP, second is once its done, LEAVE IT ALONE for a week or so. This sruff HAS to fully cure, I don't care if the can says its ready to use in 24hours. {Spoken is a In a very deep resonding voice.} don't YOU BELIEVE IT!!! :rotf: :D don't touch the surface for a week, then use as normal and you will get a more durable and longer life of the product. SO, its def NOT crap... CW
  5. Thats a VERY NICE and super CLEAN bumper and swing mount!!! One of the very nicest I have seen, congratulations!! The truck looks good as well, nice job!! CW
  6. I guess I had a little too much "holiday cheer" to have read that post correctly and completely. :ack: :???: Sorry. I'm still guessing its a geometry thing and pete is spot on, PICTURES are necessarry to "see" what your talking about. CW
  7. Sounds like your trying to use the STOCK short control arms. If so, your caster is WACKED BAD!!! @7.5" you MUST legnthen BOTH upper and lower arms. Even then, the ride will be choppy and AWEFUL!!!! You really NEED tio look into a long arm setup or at the very least, drop brackets. THEN get better steering because also @7.5" the stock set up is binding to beat hell.... CW
  8. Pulled a 4X4 cheby S10 out of a snow bank. Poor bastid was hopelessly stuck. He drove his front tires over a 4foot mound of show and got high centered. :clapping:   Then I winched a guy who thought he could drive across our field... 14" of snow and a 1995 Honda Civic on 13" tires no less... Sorry I was at work and don't have any pics. they w=ould have been priceless.. the message I got was "Come quick, some idiot is doing donuts in the field". What did I get for my trouble.. I got out of the truck, hit a patch of ice and fell flat on my left hip and left elbow. I remember seeing my feet eye level before falling, it was about a three foot drop. :fs1: Now I am a big guy and do not bruse easy... The wife says I have a good one growing on my @$$ cheek and another on my back, my shoulder and back of my arm are "tender". I think I'll let the wife drive to her parents tonight and I'll just get sauced to drown away the pain.. :brows: CW
  9. Hey guys, I just wanted to take a moment and wish everyone of you a sefe and happy holiday season. God bless everyone of my Comanche Club brothers and sisters. May the best days of this last year be your worst for the next.   CW
  10. Hurculiner is a more durable product. Duplicolor is much easier to work with but not near as durable for high traffic areas. If you prep correctly neither will just "flake off". CW
  11. The front bumper is the WORST PLACE to mount your hi-lift!!! Put it in the bed, on the tail gate or inside behind the seat, but PLEASE PLEASE Keep it off the front of the jeep!! CW
  12. Just a couple things... The 8.8 is 5/8" per side narrower. NOT a large amount... Eagle, No offence, but spacers will do the same thing to the fenders as same amount less BS rims will... Juyst LIFT the fenders UP OUT of the way!!! :brows:  :wavey: :shake: :D Spacers are NOT D.O.T. leagle. There for, they are for OFFROAD USE ONLY. CW
  13. 600 for everything is a GOOD PRICE!!! Figure $250 for the axle, Regear is or can be expensive say 4-6hrs @ 90 per, $360-$540 + parts and more labor for the welding and the actual install. You say you can get it ALL for 600!! WOW, that is a VERY GOOD price. For the front, just go find a complete axle assembly and throw it in. you can do this with minimal experience, its not trerribly difficult. Again, 250 - 300 cost for said axle. CW
  14. I'm sure its simply and "options/trim package" generally the cheaper/lower end trim packages don't get two or rather "dual tone" horns. One horn is sufficent and cheaper. CW
  15. WOW... I can read the DARWIN report already.. I only hope it dosen't kill anyone but the builder. (Maybe the "gene" pool is better off with out any of his additions.) :rotf: :rotf: CW
  16. Thats a good idea and something I have done for years. Many of the other forums I have been on do the same thing. CW
  17. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13131&hilit=spacers NOT the best or safest option... I suggest you buy new rims with more Back Spacing to compensate.. CW
  18. Leave the MJ as is, buy my TJ for your wheeler... :brows: http://cave76.org/forums/cromag.php?mod ... cwlongshot CW
  19. AS a kid growing up I can remember my grandfather telling us be careful when you back out...remember the ditch. Grandma told us the story about one Thanksgiving when gramps backed the car in to that ditch and spent all afternoon trying to get out while the family was eating dinner. Then I got my licence, and I got to hear him say it to me... Advance ahead to about ten years ago. There is gramps, out in the road, yelling "NO NO NO NO, WATCH OUT FOR THE DITCH" As I purposefully back right in and back out of that ditch, with out even spinning a tire. Gramp's didn't have a locked JEEP!!! :brows: CW
  20. Empty promices.... :???:
  21. And expect your TCase to be in one piece after shifting into 4WD at 45 like the manuel says you can.... :rotf: :rotf: CW
  22. I doubt it would.. its 3" angle iron and at least 3/16 thick. Pretty heavy duty stuff. I am in the process of reworking my lower mounts to allow for a more upright position. I'm getting a bit of a vibe after a bump and since the new Motion 4.5" leafs. I'm thinking its from the shock angle. CW
  23. Its all good.. Its just a busy time of year, not so much traffic here that has interested me as of late... I back away from the jeep boards come october..its hunting season ya know. Then after the holidays I'm back with a good dose of cabin fever to get the juices flowing for the new year. Its getting too cold for projects and I've done about all I wanted to on the MJ.... don't get me wrong.. there is ALWAYS SOMETHING else to add or change. Thanks for asking, Merry CHRISTmas to all, CW
