  1. Yup, I ordered them last night from Motion Offroad. CW
  2. Dude, What do you want to know? A posi Lok for our jeeps fits the D30 FRONT axle, not 8.25 REAR axle. If your asking about a POSI rear carrier for the 8.25. YES a number of companies make them. Auburn and track loc are but two of them off the top of my head. CW
  3. I'll grab them if I see them!! I get up your way (NH at least) when we go to Field and Forest. You know the place? 89 Eliminator, Thank you very much for the compliments!! CW
  4. $375+shipping and a phone call and you too can have a set!! At least I had a good paycheck this week... 33.5 hrs overtime, Sure helped cover the costs. Momma got the rest. Easy come easy go I guess.... CW
  5. GREAT info THANK YOU!! The Ubolts where tight. The spring plates are old, but perfect condition. Didnt see anything obvious but your explination makes perfect sence to me. How/why would it break if it didnt move.... Even with out moving I can see how it would be subject to some stress forces, but not nearly as much as if it moved. Anyway, we KNOW they where CRAP form the get go. I got exactly what I paid for... Alcans on the way to me!! CW
  6. Should be a BA-10 if its stock.
  7. Its about the least aggressive out of the limited slips. Its an improvement over open for sure. Personally I would rebuild it before the install.. There is a reason it was free!! CW
  8. Do you mean posi-TRACTION? Posi Loc is for the front axle to eliminate the disconnect. CW
  9. exactly. though it may seem like your saving money, you will probably not be happy with the lift and want to purchase a new one. i've learned the hard way and my advice would be to save up a little longer for a good quality kit like motion's or rubicon express. VERY GOOD ADVICE HERE!!!!! Words of wisdom as it where..... :brows: CW
  10. Says in the sig line, 4X4.... COULD be or could HAVE BEEN a 242... good catch. CW
  11. Exactly my thoughts... Yes, I did chamfer the crack as best I could, I didnt want to get too close to the centerhole so only opened up 3/4 the way across on each side but not top and bottom, Just top side. I kept wet towels on eitherside of the spring to keep the heating to a minimum. Spoke with a number of people who should be in the know. Got answers from what I thought to it will be too brittle and will crack as soon as weight is applied. So looks lke no one know for sure. I assembled last night. I heard some noise from the spring initially as weight was applied. I got in the bed and jumped repeatedly and there was ZERO noise from spring. Hope its OK... Its just gotta get me to show, new leafs on order... Thanks, CW
  12. They are old JKS plates. I have had them for years. I do not think they are offered anylonger. http://www.jksmfg.com/company.htm Maybe find some on Ebay or jeep shows, swap meets? I'll keep my eyes open at the shop I am going to next weekend for ya. What axle? D35 or D44? CW
  13. GOOD JOB!!! CW
  14. Time to rebuild your shifting fork!! Cannot find the link I had on this job. But its basically just take it apart and clean everything up so it works freely as it did when new. OR, you could bolt it to connect the axle at all times and forget about it. CW
  15. Time for an UPGRADE!! :D Hurst and B&M make replacement shifters for the AX 5/15. (I cannot see what you have, thinking maybe BA10  ) I have one on my TJ. AWESOME shifting, very close and tight shifts. it slike a litttle sports car now!!! Other options would be the JY. Easy swap too. CW
  16. did you get the ones with the higher load rating? Just an FYI, Hell Creek has them in 3" & 4" choices also, and the 4" IIRC you can get in either std load rating or MT rating. I know you already ordered and not trying to sell Motion short, just sharing the info for future reference. Got the MT rating.. actually didn't notice one WITH OUT it.... :D Thanks for the compliments guys, yup ALWAYS upgrade time when breakage occurs!!! CW
  17. 4.5" Motion leaf springs are ON ORDER!!! Who else has them?? CW
  18. Well, I installed the RE Add - A - Leafs and found the crappy RUSTYS leafs are all busted!!! MAIN leaf on the PS broke completely in two when I removed the center pin!! I found two more on that side broke and one cracked on the other. I WELDED them back together as a TEMP FIX. I got it all back together and buttoned up. I like the firmness the RE AAL gives. I also gained the lost ride height I lost from the sagging leafs. I have a set of 4.5 leafs on order from Motion Offroad!! Next is the new RE 4.5" front coils. CW
  19. Here is the pics... Near as I can tell, its back to the height it was when I first installed the leafs. CW
  20. Thanks for the generous offer man!! But XJ packs are too short for the MJ. I got everything bolted back up and turned it around in the drive way. Ready for the front coil install Friday. I did get a bit of a lift after all, 1 - 1.5" tops. I have to compare some old pics to see for sure. (I wasn't smart enough to throw a tape measure on before I started.) Photo bucket is down for maintaince so no pics just now. But I'll add some shortly. CW
  21. Got it. Just haven't seen those plates before. Yea, they are old school and havent been around or avalible for some time. But they work well!! CW
  22. No I am not using stock anything for my shocks. The plates I have are old JKS brand and protect the nuts with a 1.25" thick piece of steel. CW
  23. I have dealt with them before.. NEVER again!! I am just going to chalk it up to experience... Like I have said before, you get what you pay for. Buy cheap and you'll surely pay for it!! Very likely going with the Motion 4.5 packs made by Alcan. Just like Dirty told me way back when!!  :D CW
  24. That's the difference a open to a closed system makes!! On OPEN systems the loose cap trick works well... NOT so on the closed systems the Jeep 4.0's have!! As you found out!! CW
  25. Lower shock mounts are my own build. They are welded to the axle tube and the shocks bolt to that. So that has nothing to do with the leafs. The leaf center bolt is a 3/8 diameter. CW
