  1. Rich, I've been thinking about this lately too, so keep as posted...........as you always do. I was thinking of trying to mod my cargo light (can't remember if you have one) and have a combo lens up there with brake and cargo. Don, where do you hook up this logic circuit? Is my idea a reasonably done mod?
  2. Wow that is a great picture to see rick! And thanks for taking the time to keep us informed with all that you have going on. Hopefully it seems to have given you some sort of sanity through all of this along with all the other love and support I'm sure you are both receiving. Like Hornbrod did, this might be a good time for a little levity as we all breathe a sigh of relief that she's reached a point of significant progress. So i was thinking, I guess her situation is a little like off roading right now. Slow is good. As long as you are making forward progress, slow is good. Keep it up Rick and Cin!
  3. I knew I had seen some members that had successfully done this with fabric paint. Drachir, post up some picks for him. Also, I've never seen these in person, never owned a pair, but when I researched hard about seat covers, these Wet Okole Neoprene covers seemed to be pretty damn good. Of course the shey should be at $200+, but I even PM'd a guy on jeepforum who was selling a set if they were any good and he said he loved them, held up real well etc. He was getting custom seats put in his TJ so he was selling his stock seats w/the these covers on them. The cool thing is that they fit specific to your year and style of seat, plus you can really customize with colors etc. I don't know, for about the same money you could just get them re-covered at a shop, but at least it's another option if you don't want to do fabric paint. http://www.wetokole.com/jeep_commanche_ ... front.html
  4. VW Thing + Jeep = Jhing :D
  5. To me it looks useful. And all things utilitarian look good to me. Personally I find form over function pretty damm sexy. And this thing just exudes function with an utter disregard to form. I bet it can't haul more than 2 bags of dog food and while it might get you to work on a snowy day, that's about all you'll get out of the 4wd!
  6. I am truly amazed at how many of you like it. Wow. :dunno: :huh???:
  7. Racist. Admit it, you don't like the slant eyes. No, it's the BUG eyes I don't like LOL. Just the whole Libby front end doesn't look like a truck. The first thing that came to mind was one of those mini trucks, i.e. the little motorcycle engined van cabs with a bed behind it riding around on 10" wheels LOL. Should have a couple of weedeaters and a load of sand in it running around a golf course or something.
  8. Eggs-xactly! Not real sure what that thread is for, seems like it is just posting project/build thread info in 2 different places. :hmm:
  9. Thread hi-jack re-opened. Actually Jeff, I was a transplanted southerner my 4+ years in Da Burgh, now I'm back home in VA. And those perogies I fixed for my wife during the game that is known as the Super Bowl and was won by Da Pittsburgh Steelers making them the ONLY 6-time NFL Champions......oh, sorry, got a little excited there. Anyhoo, yeah, those cheddar cheese perogies I made? Awesome! Laughed at myself for never trying them when they could have been made fresh and not frozen out of a box LOL! Thread hi-jack over.
  10. I think it looks like, well, like a Chinese vehicle. Like a fish or something? Maybe it's an optical illusion, but the rear flares look half the size as the front ones. Let me put it more simply..........I hate it.
  11. Agree. But be sure to post some pics as directed by Wahoo though, after all this thread is for HIM. Damn straight! Glad we got that cleared up Don. :jump:
  12. :rotfl2: Shouldn't this be in the Pub on the "What did you do to your MJ today" thread? :brows:
  13. Ahhh, love seeing another 88 Laredo Longbed! Very nice. The Libby wheels look great, haven't seen them on an MJ before. A nice fresh look. Did you or the PO put them on there? As Pete pointed out, HellCreek (Tom is a member here and HellCreek is his screename) makes 3" & 4" lift full spring packs for the MJ, and another member/vendor here, MotionOffroad sells a 3" & 4.5" pack that they have made for them. If you also want to use your truck for hauling, they both offer HD packs that offer similar payloads to the factory Metric Tonne (or Big Ton as they were in the states) package. Also, General Spring has full lift packs and HD versions too. Do you know if you have a 35 or 44 rear axle? As we say around here, welcome aboard! Beer is in the fridge, and, uh, don't sit on the tan couch, that's Chico's spot! Oh, and don't be a stranger.

    YARG!

Send a PM to Komanche. When he bought mine he found an independent shipper that did small LTL loads with Sprinter van and got mine from VA to Upstate NY for a reasonable cost IIRC. Or, at least reasonable to him being that he wanted a nice topper really bad......like you. Good luck.
  15. JT, www.buydig.com is an awesome electronics site. Very cheap, almost always free shipping, good selection. Definitely hit the review sites, that's what I did and it was a big help.
  16. Giffer, you are correct, MJ rear leafs are longer than XJ leaf packs. I've heard of XJ owners putting MJ packs on their rigs as the increased arc of making them fit gave them a decent lift. A sidenote to Hornbrod's comment about fender flares. Front flares on XJs and MJs ARE interchangeable, but definitely not the rears.
  17. Yes, the 89+ Yota Xcab windows pop out for ventilation. Early 80s S-10 windows did also, and were very square, well, recatangular, but you know what I mean. Again, that may work well with the sharp lines of the MJ.
  18. I am near the Blacksburg area. I figured you were probably on the same side of the state as me with those rolling hills. Well, welcome aboard. As we like to say 'round here, beer's in the fridge, and uh, don't sit on the tan couch, that's Chico's spot.
  19. Nice work, keep the pics and info coming. I see VA plates on there, where are you?
  20. Oh, i love it, i think it's cool!
  21. :headpop: Did the site crash on anybody else? I hit preview to my post to this and....... "buh-bye". So, here goes again. I like the blue version like the others, but I like also like the Xcab and Crew Cab long bed photos. It's funny what dakine said about the vent being an MJ signature. In my failed attempt to post 90 mins ago I was saying that in almost every picture I've ever seen of a crew or xcab MJ, real or photoshopped, I think the vent just looks out of place. That being said, the one exception is the pic of the crew cab long because it had real crew doors (square). The pic of the crew cab short box though, with the "backward facing front doors" has too much metal between the window frame and the back of the cab, so IMO it would look better w/OUT the vent. Also, on the Xcab trucks, with the 1/4 window, it's too much going on, again, IMO it would be better w/out the vent. Anyhooo......... Tim, what about a mid or late 80s Yota 1/4 window? The mid 80s could work well because it is narrow up top and wide at the bottom and that may fit in well with the lines of the door and back of cab, although I think I might like it better if the bottom was trimmed up even with the door glass. In 89 they went to a larger and more square window. The deeper the back of your cab goes, this might be an option. :dunno:
  22. No problem, wants vs. needs LOL I definitely understand.
  23. Looks good with the wheel spacers. After seeing yours and Hornbrods, I'm all over it this summer. FYI, you really like doing the forklift flex thing, huh? :brows:
  24. Bear, that is definitely a top 3 rig, great job. Personally I like the Bushwhackers. Not many people seem to like them, but with the right combination of lift, tires etc., I think they look really cool. I also love the colored beadlocks, I've been wanting to see a set on an MJ to see how'd they look. I hope to paint mine soon which will be a two tone black over factory maroon, and I've thought it might look cool w/streetlocks and painted beadlocks. Helps me get a little perspective seeing yours. Well, as my screen name indicates, huge Steeler fan also and lived in Da 'Burgh from ''02-'06 so I'll anxiously await the new paint job. Should be 10x better than the current theme LOL. Please do us a favor and stay active on this forum, in addition to seeing pics of a fantastic MJ, it seems like you'd have a lot of other info to offer. Welcome!
  25. Killer!!!!!!!
