  1. That's a killer shot dude! You have what I've always wanted. Long before I had any interest in MJs, I wanted a Scrambler soooo bad. My best friend from high school fell in to one of those deals you only hear about when we were just a few years out of college. He had been looking for a Scrambler and another buddy knew somebody that knew somebody that was selling one sitting in their back yard. So for $2300 sometime around 90-92 he bought and 82-83? Scrambler with about 100k on it. Ohh, but whaddayaknow, it was a Laredo, factory air, tach, clock, 99% rust free. It became his DD for several years until he ditched it @4yrs ago (not his DD by then) and bent the frame. In fact, looking for Scramblers is how I realized the Comanche might be very cool to have. I would look under "Jeep truck" as one of the search options on ebay and Comanches started popping up. I saw a couple of nice ones and realizing the were cheaper to come by than a decent Scrambler, I decided I had to have one. But I've always said I would still have a Scrambler one day when I could. I saw it in your sig a long time ago, but man is it cool to see pics of them together.
  2. The return of Zoooooooooo-lander! So let me get this straight. You're an Okie from Miskokie (or whatever the hell that saying is), i.e. landlocked, and you go on a cruise ship with intensified Carribean sun and the reflection of the water and you didn't think to go full zince oxide coverage on your whitebread self? :rotfl2: But despite being a :dunce: , I know that sucked getting fried like that.
  3. I'm glad that's Ben, because I thought I just saw Bigfoot! Interior looks great, can't believe how well the seats and everything turned out. Is that Pacific Northwest morning fog or one of those crappy cell phone pics?
  4. cool, when did you go on that?
  5. Says who? :D What cruise line? Which ship?
  6. MJZJ, how about a shot of your rear bumper? What's it from, 'cause I can tell it's not stock. And do I see a chrome cargo light? Definitely never seen that, I ASSumed they were only black. I wonder if Hornbrod knows they were available in chrome!
  7. That's a good point, and I'm glad you brought it up, because I have MT packs and, while not very often, do haul heavy loads so i would want a shock that would be more compatible with heavier weight.
  8. saved for use at a future date :chillin: Jeff  I thought I might hear from you after that comment. Ok ok, for the forseeable future..........i.e. $$
  9. I measured yesterday and the rears are around 19.5" at rest. I emailed Edelbrock for additional input. I'll post back.
  10. Mini, GFY LOL  Don, thanks, I KNEW I had seen somewhere that ZJ shocks worked. So, to be sure, that is a stock ZJ spec, or for a lifted one?
  11. I need some help to make sure I order the right shocks from Edelbrock for my rear axle. I'm a little unsure of my total lift as I have MT packs installed and some yet-to-be installed Chevy shackles. The MT packs I think only netted me about 1.5", and I'm only looking to get 1" out of the shackles. Bottom line is the max lift I will have on the rear is 3" and I have no plans to ever go higher. Sooooooooooo, what should be the extended shock length I need to confirm w/Edelbrock before I order? When I looked up Monroe Senstracs online for 0-3" lifts, for the same part # it listed early 90s Toyotas, so would it stand to reason if I order an early 90s Toyota rear shock from Edelbrock it should fit? Feeling stupid today........... :help: **Edit, I guess feeling more lazy than stupid. Was able to find some helpful info using "search", hmmm...imagine that?!. I just wanted the quick and easy I guess. Looks like if it's in the 15-25" range collapsed/extended I should be ok. My truck is a weekend "work around the house" truck, some occasional light trail running at most for off-road. Most likely use is for hauling trash and/or dirt and mulch (big loads) for landscaping aroun the house.
  12. sell everything separately, you may even come closer to getting your money back than as a package. plenty of takers out there for 3" coils, 2" spacers, and 1" spacers as individual items etc. good luck............
  13. I love those little guys. It's a member of my "dream fleet".
  14. Bilstein is having a rare shock sale, buy 3 get 1 free...............check your favorite site that has Bilsteins. Just one of them........ http://www.shockwarehouse.com/index.cfm
  15. Thanks for posting so many pics, I look forward to all your new posts, awesome project.
  16. they are still showing for sale. can someone tell me what would be the correct ones for rears on an MJ? don't Grand Cherokee rears work on MJs?
  17. 1. I agree 1000% that a Grand Waggy w/out the paneling isn't, well...., isn't a Grand Waggy IMO. 2. Travellalls were definitely cool. 3. Pat, what a buzz kill LOL. "It doesn't make sense blah blah blah". Quite clearly this thread is about "how cool would this be", not "does this make sense". Roll with it brotha! 4. DO IT!!
  18. what are these? :fool: i might have to go to FL to see one :dunce:  Now Zoolander, you're probably one of the worst spellers on here, or at least you never check your spelling. :brows: I give you example #1, that you even put in bold 100pt font for us in your classifed: :fool:
  19. Keep strong Rick, we're all still thinking about the both of you.
  20. seeing how there are zip ties holding it on, he probably knows that............ :fool:
  21. Very creative and nice work Dracula.
  22. LOL, you didn't have to go very far off pavement to get to that hole did ya?
  23. I don't know if anybody on here watch's Top Chef on Bravo, but on the finale last week one of the surprise ingredients was Gator. Stefan, the arrogant jerk from Finland, got stuck with having to prepare an appetizer with it and made a soup/bisque that the judges loved. If you did see it, you'll also know that he pulled out one of his killer knives and sawed off a huge hunk of that sucker's tail in about 3 seconds flat. It looked like a commercial for Miracle Blade or something LOL. I've had gator fried up in bite size chunks with a remoulade sauce or similar spicy/cajun sauce for dipping........very good.
  24. Go for it Shelby, I'd love to see it "in the flesh" before I do it! Not that I'm looking for final clarification, I'm committed to that color setup for sure. The dark red/maroon is my stock color with the argent (gray/silver) lowers, flares and end caps. I really like that deep red, especially against the black.
