Pete, I agree, I'd be more impressed if it was a huge 10x10 limo!

Cracks me up to see the luggage rack on the back with matching travel trunk. Oh, and the Durango rear bumper/tail light setup.

Cleaning up a 92 pioneer
WahooSteeler replied to Codybelec's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
To each his own.......some guys just like the look of a lifted truck even if it's a pavement queen. LOTS of 4x4s around where I live like that and I'm certain most rarely see anything other than an occasional mudhole. That said, what I DON'T get is the current trend on 3/4 ton diesels is the low profile 22-24" rim and tire set up. I know these are usually chipped and tweaked out for speed and rollin black smoke, but why do that with a crew cab long bed 3/4 ton 4x4 and restrict its intended functionality? -
Anybody running 12 hole injectors?
WahooSteeler replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Picking up a set of 746s from coolwind57. Looking forward to installing them when the weather is consistently warm. I've also got a bored TB from Mean Lemons to install and was going to replace the IAC, TPS, O2 sensor and do Cruiser's CPS mod too. Oh, and I have a 90 ECU to swap out also. If I was a patient man I'd do these step by step and see how each improved (hopefully) how the truck runs. But I'm not sure I'll be able to do that......get 'r done. -
Fuel filter location

Along with the new fuel filter I'd take a jug of fresh gas and a can of Seafoam if you haven't thought of that already. Welcome to the madness. -

Anybody running 12 hole injectors?
WahooSteeler replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Limey, good info. I've already concluded after a lot more research today that the 746s are the way to go for Renix 4.0's, which is what I have. Learned a lot today......that's a good thing. -
Jeep Turbine 10-Spoke Rims Restoration
WahooSteeler replied to NEO auto's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Wow........gotta say, that finishes the wheels off just right IMO. Looks proper. I've always liked turbines, have one for my spare tire. I think I like the way these look better than stock. -

Search 746 injectors here and you'll have plenty to read LOL. The more and more I read the 746s are definitely the recommended units for your 88 Renix, and 784s are well received for your 01 XJ. Saw plenty of negative comments on the 703s. Your XJ might be a good candidate for the 12 hole units (0280 156 161). -
Anybody running 12 hole injectors?
WahooSteeler replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
They had already replaced stock 1 holes with 4 hole units and were happy with them, but then recently went to the newer 12 hole units. They both seemed to feel the idle and throttle response improved again, much like it had when going from 1 to 4 hole. Others reported additional MPG gains............ Limey, after more research, apparently stock flow rate is 23.2/lb which is interesting considering that I had planned on the 746's based on many discussions here. 746's come to find out are rated at 20.2/lb. Also have seen a lot of info on people running 703's (23/lb) on Renix 4.0's because they have the same EV1 connectors. 99+ guys seem to mostly run 784's (24.4/lb), they have the EV6 connectors. I just want to make sure when I purchase "new" units, I've got the best ones suited for my stock Renix 4.0L and only have to swap them once. -

#0 280 156 161 Limey, yeah, one guy is running a Renix stroker and another did the swap in a 99+ XJ. -
I plan on doing the injector upgrade very soon and was going to use the Bosch 746 4-hole injectors. Ran across some info where some people have gone to the Bosch 12 hole injectors over their existing 4 hole injector upgrade for even better atomization. Most reported smoother running and more responsive acceleration, a couple noted minor increase in MPGs. Price is @$40 more I believe. Curious if anybody has installed these and general opinions considering "more is not always better". Flow rate is 24/lb on the 12 hole units.

Jeep Turbine 10-Spoke Rims Restoration

Looks fantastic. It works w/out the caps, but like a few others I would like it with the caps. You've got a little bit of a chrome thing going on so I think they would look really good, plus the "Jeep" in the middle of them ads a detailed touch IMO. Regardless, roll with what YOU like 'cause it will look awesome either way. -
Diesel Conversion Opinions

Looks like a great score! Where are you located? -
I should have clarified that they have a lot of Jeeps, not necessarily acreage. But I didn't know it was only 10 acres, that is kinda small........
-
J&W Auto Wreckers..........that's a HUUGE yard. They have a handful of MJs and tons of Jeeps. I bought a spare tire winch and some other parts from them years ago. Usually cost prohibitive on shipping since I'm in VA.

July 2019 Mid-Atlantic CC PowWow / All-Breeds Jeep Show

I'm less than 4hrs away, mostly interstate up I-81. Might have to make this happen. My summers are unpredictable with kids going to sports camps etc, but there's a good possibility on this one. -
Is that the same 2.1L Renault that was in the MJ's?
-
While adding on to the frame at the rear and installing a dummy axle is no small task, I'd actually be impressed and a fan if they had stretched the frame and kept it as 2 axles and essentially have a Jeep "Suburban".

Let me know when you are ready to sell that dually kit, depending on the timing I might be a buyer.
-
Drachir, so the blue long bed is no longer in your possession, or does "retired" mean it's just parked. Ever make any progress on the dually? We used to chat about that a lot. Congrats on the son! Mine is graduating high school this year.........time flies.

Posted in classifieds too but worth discussing amongst the whole group IMO. Never seen one, wonder if it was mounted on there from another vehicle. Needs to be on an MJ. Based on the asking price and the decorations inside the camper, I'd say the seller is a little "high"! https://asheville.craigslist.org/rvs/d/knoxville-selling-4xford-ranger-chinook/6808972896.html
