  1. Which heater hose?
  2. Should be about a week and I'll have all three Jeeps down here! Then I can actually start doing stuff to them again.
  3. Let's take a poll: Who still has any bump stops left? I do! I do! The PO on my 4.0 replaced one of them, and I have like 4 sitting in the shed.
  4. Yeah... but mine's got a lot more of that crimson 'character' installed. It will have those same rims on it before I drive it down here though..
  5. Uh... they have more load capacity. That's why it's called what it is. And it's mainly 5 leaves vs. 4.
  6. They must like the letter 'e'. 'Weeek' 'Warrantee'
  7. Your 5 speed will be an Aisin AX-15. Rear axle will be a Dana 35 as mentioned, although it could be a Dana 44, which was most commonly associated with the Metric Tonne package.
  8. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=15 Something like that, or do you mean an actually gallery style page. If that's what you mean... I don't think the forum software is capable of that.
  9. So what, 65 degrees kind of cold? Use the same foot on the brake and gas.
  10. You don't have a timing belt, it's a chain. If you've got the original oil pan gasket, you're going to have a hell of a time scraping it off the block and pan.
  11. :agree:
  12. Why wouldn't the rubi case have a worm gear? What does it have to tell the speedometer what to do?
  13. After all the work of combining them, and especially if they really weigh infinity, you'd be better off just installing a 4:1 kit in a 231.
  14. You don't have a cruise control box. Cruise is all controlled by the ECU starting in 91. I installed cruise in my 91 4.0, using parts from a 91 4.0 XJ. All I needed was to change the stalk, and plug in the wire that's under the dash, and install the actuator on the passenger fender, hook up to vacuum, plug it in, and run the throttle cable. Unfortunately I'm several hundred miles away from my MJs, so I can't take a pic.
  15. I seem to remember seeing some sort of spring holding it away from the axle. At least all my XJs had them. I don't remember if the MJs do or not.
  16. I never noticed that before... I'll have to take a look at that.
  17. Flexplates would probably be ok, but as in an actual flywheel for a manual... I wouldn't. Could screw up the clutch.
  18. You can put any year AX-15 behind a Renix motor. It's a good idea to look for a 94+ for the external slave cylinder.
  19. AX-15 doesn't take a different crossmember. IIRC it even uses the same mount as the AW-4
  20. The tooth count will be stamped on the gears... but most people don't want the hassle of dumping all the fluid, resealing the cover, and filling it back up just to find out ratio. Jacking up one wheel, turning it twice, and counting driveshaft turns is easy and accurate enough.
  21. My XJ did that when I got it. Ended up being a dirty throttle body/TPS out of adjustment. No matter how much I floored it, it would be in OD by 40 mph and wouldn't downshift by itself. You might want to specify at least year/engine/tranny with tech questions, or put them in your signature.
  22. About time I saw another one with those wheels! You got the correct lugnuts on there, yes?
  23. Yes, I'm down in Missouri for awhile. I honestly have no idea when I'll be back... I'll(just me) be back at some point in Dec for 2 or 3 days to load up crap and drive my 4.0 down after my dad brings me my 2.5. Things have been fairly rough lately and I just haven't felt like being on much. You guys have been and enormous help, and I cannot thank you enough. Especially Brent, who's been doing more than I could possibly hope for, and once this is all said and done, I'll make it up to all of you. My time in WI, being so limited, is not gonna be fun. Doesn't help that my mom thinks I can just "stay and extra day or two to do the motor swap in my brother's XJ", even though I'm getting mixed results as to whether or not a 91 4.0 will be bolt-in to a 98 control system.
  24. Go nuts, I won't be there.
