89 Base model. Nothing rare here, just pointing out the thin maroon pinstripe decal which I've also seen on XJ's. Note this wraps around the tailgate and meets at the tailgate handle.

Definitely Chief decals. I’m pretty sure Pioneers didn’t have those.

That's... strange. Yeah, Google searching 1991 Pioneers doesn't show any others with hood decals.

I wonder if there was a custom order to put those decals on the hood. I can see this on the build sheet, but isn't very descriptive:

got my doubts, but anything is possible.  the chief stopped existing after 87.  but then all it would have taken is a guy at the dealership ordering a chief hood sticker pack.  heck, I have one up on my wall.

Would have been hood and header panel, seems unlikely.

 

It's probably likely someone just bought the chief stickers and slapped them on. @kryptronic actually purchased a set in his build thread.

In my neck of the woods, I've seen SOME Cherokee Chiefs, but never any Comanche Chiefs. Never seen any black Pioneers with red stripe either. Any trim tan MJ is rare over here, having seen only one in my life. Oh, and I've never seen any Laredos either. In the late nineties, all I ever saw in the AutoTrader was red, white and black Eliminators, red, white, black, grey and blue Pioneers, and the rest were plain jane base, or some rare ones with the Sportruck decals.

the 91-92 sportrucks decals (the squiggly ones) are rare, but that's mostly because all 91-92s are rare.
