Whats in your cab that you find useful?

I'll start I have a towel because it is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.

actually it is really useful and you never know when you will need one.

You know what I discovered I didn’t have in my daily driver the other day? A tool that fit my lug nuts. The PO had put locking lug nuts on it and fair enough the “key” socket was in the glove box, but it never occurred to me to check that the key socket that was the same size hex as the rest of the lug nuts was also the same as the factory lug nut wrench in the tire changing tools. It wasn’t.

 

But on a more relevant note I’ve got a roll of shop towel. My EDC “emergency” kit and tools have gotten a little scattered after I started driving more than one vehicle on the regular, only getting recombined for longer trips, but there’s always a roll of shop towel somewhere, and a box of matches and pack of jerky in the glovebox.

flashlight is most useful in my cab next to my overnight bag. always need a light for them dark times with the jeep and an extra set of rags and some soap incase it was a long night.

A crescent wrench would be the most notable thing in my cab.  I've got other tools but I use the crescent wrench the most.

Channel lock pliers and a flat head and philips screw driver. Plus like 3 sets of gloves.

a 110v fan.  one that runs non stop so as to keep air circulating and thus prevent crap from growing on the various plastics and leathers the cab of my truck.  stupid southern moisture.

I can see that with no doors, my flashlight is always dead

At least he left the key, I Get a lot with no keys. But yeah you should check to verify you can remove it with the tools on hand.

It’s never been an issue up until now because I’ve always just used a socket and breaker bar/impact. I hadn’t actually needed to put a tool on the lug nuts out in the field yet until last week. Locking lug nuts have always been more of an annoyance to me than anything else but I didn’t want to change them out because these are actually solid and don’t have the obnoxious chrome caps.

Trash can. I have one in all my vehicles. I think it comes with having kids and keeping a vehicle cleanish.

They just look like regular lug nuts, same chromed finish but they’re solid instead of having a thin chrome cover thing to distort or swell up and make your life miserable. No idea where they came from. The locking nuts are Gorilla brand and look similar to the others in terms of construction and material, but there’s no brand markings on them.

oh those, i thought they were not chrome, the lug nuts look like ones you can get from a auto parts store

don't have anything in my cab but once I do its gonna be. Tommy axe my granpa had a knife some beefy jumper cables a tire iron bottle jack some hand warmers. that's all I can thing of right now what am I missing?

the basic tools you'd need to tackle common roadside issues.  sockets, screwdrivers, 3# sledge, etc.

I do need to inventory the toolbag behind the seat, I think its lacking anything important.

Well, right now I have my golf clubs behind the rear seat. In case anyone was wondering, golf clubs fit behind the seat perfectly with the seat as far back as it can go.
