Limeyjeeper
Very late with the update. Got the Quickdraw bellhousing installed. Much better setup than the Novak adapter. However, I had to lop a bit off the top of the bellhousing to get it to fit. If you are dropping the engine and trans in together it might fit. If I had removed the radiator etc. to allow me to drop the engine even further, I might have got it, but it would probably have needed the headers to be removed. Stock external slave cylinder works perfectly. Overall, a nice setup. Allowed me to move the transmission up another inch or so, which has stopped my transfer case tailhousing leak. Next project is to get the under-dash wiring organized. I have been in there too many times to troubleshoot a couple of things and now it is interfering with the accelerator pedal - Not good. What bolt hole was the engine mount in? @ghetdjc320 Had the same problem, but the trans I have didnt have that issue, all trucks had Novak mounts, with the Quickdraw bell. Strange how some have this problem and some don't, something we have previously scratched our heads about.
Limeyjeeper
I had the mount in its most rear position. The motor sits really close to the bulkhead.
Limeyjeeper
I have had this really annoying rear transfer case seal leak, well that is what I thought it was. Turns out the crappy Spicer slip yoke is what is leaking. After several rear transfer case seal swaps with no fix I decided to stand my driveshaft on its end and I filled the slip yoke spline shaft with ATF. Sure enough the next morning I looked at the yoke and fluid was pooling behind the yoke base. Never seen this before. I wonder how many people fighting transfer case leaks really don't have a seal issue but a leaking yoke.
damianriel
@Limeyjeeper not intending to hijack your thread but I was hoping you could share some on how you setup your AC system with the swap. I've been pretty deep in research regarding it lately and according to all my research the 91-96 HO harnesses run at least part of the AC circuit through the ECM/PCM which I have no plans of keeping. Edit: I found the post you did on the AC and I'm not convinced it will work for my application. Looks like I'll be figuring it out myself.

Curious what your thoughts are in regards to flipping the pump over so the inlet would run to the outside. I keep trying to come up with a way to eliminate the vette reservoir to reduce intake interference... It appears that your PS pump is held in with 2 bolts. I was speaking with Blaine (Savvy, BMB and Vanco) about this, and he suggested trying to find a way to fit this reservoir near the alternator: https://www.chasebays.com/products/chase-bays-new-dual-baffled-power-steering-reservoir?_pos=2&_sid=92fea590c&_ss=r
Limeyjeeper
I think the problem is that the Corvette pump is very small and doesn't deal with a lot of distance from the tank. When I had the G8 setup I probably had 2 feet of hose. It squealed like a pig. It wasn't cavitation. I just don't think the pump had enough power to pull the fluid through that much hose when you think the stock hose from the reservoir to the pump is no more than 3"!!! The Holley mid-mount to me is the best overall solution *if* it fits. Jeff at Novak thought it would fit but may need to swap the larger novak fan to the other side. This tc pump setup from PSC also struck me as interesting. Supposed to be for an LS3 which is a very similar configuration: https://www.pscmotorsports.com/psc-pk1871-ls3-m.html It seems that, even though there are a lot of aftermarket accessory drives, they have yet to crack this configuration to get a remote or even integral PS reservoir setup. Id love to just move the alternator to the passenger side head, but again, no one seems to make that setup in the -1 corvette spacing.

That might be an option for you. Borgeson Electric Power Steering - LS1TECH - Camaro and Firebird Forum Discussion
