rylee144 Posted May 18, 2021 Author Posted May 18, 2021 Added some lift shackles. $40 from o'Reilly's. Added 2 inches of lift.
MiNi Beast Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 Looking to take mine back off and go stock one or a boomerang set. My leafs are to worn for these shackles and reste axle wrap. But it did yield the lift I needed.
rylee144 Posted June 18, 2021 Author Posted June 18, 2021 Think itll stop? Might be time for the upgraded brake booster. Also need to fix the e brake the transmission won't hold on the hill.
Pete M Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 the MJ was a pretty good hauler when it was new. problem is that none of our trucks are new anymore. you're going to love the dual booster.
rylee144 Posted June 29, 2021 Author Posted June 29, 2021 Got the new muffler and tail pipe on today. Not sure what brand they used but it sure is quite. So quite I hear every noise now. Happy i can start it in the morning without waking up the kiddos tho.
rylee144 Posted June 29, 2021 Author Posted June 29, 2021 So true and it's so bad. The first drive I felt like everything was out of oil lol
rylee144 Posted September 15, 2021 Author Posted September 15, 2021 Drivers side looks good, not sure I'll change them lol
watchamakalit Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 I think they all look very rebuildable. A little brake clean and some fresh wd-40. Good to go.
rylee144 Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 I finally got around to figuring my gear ratio. It appears I have 4.56 gears. I got 4.5 rotations of the drive shaft per one rotation of the tire. I have 31" tires. Safe to say that's pretty low for the size of tires. If I didn't have 4 hours of freeway driving to my hunting camp I wouldn't complain as I'm mostly driving in town.
Pete M Posted October 4, 2021 Posted October 4, 2021 I assure you, it doesn't affect MPGs as much as you think. I'm envious of your ratio.
rylee144 Posted October 5, 2021 Author Posted October 5, 2021 With almost everything in the front being new I was upset to feel a pretty good vibration above 35 mph. Maybe my tires are out of balance. One more thing to address before the big drive.
rylee144 Posted October 6, 2021 Author Posted October 6, 2021 22 minutes ago, Pete M said: front driveshaft? It definitely could be. ill crawl under and check my next day off. I recall changing one U-joint maybe I didn't do both, would have been a bad decision. Thx
rylee144 Posted October 27, 2021 Author Posted October 27, 2021 Replaced the u joints on the front drive shaft today and got it all put together. Driving good.
rylee144 Posted November 1, 2021 Author Posted November 1, 2021 Got a good reminder today. If you see an issue fix it before it breaks. I noticed a fuel line was starting to fray, did I fix it...nope. Few months go by. Filled up the tank and drove the kids to school today leaving a solid trail of gas and blowing my whole tank on the road. Just made it to the store for a fuel line.
rylee144 Posted November 5, 2021 Author Posted November 5, 2021 Found a canopy for 20 bucks. Gets the job done but its rough. All the plexi glass is fogged or painted black. Makes it hard to check a blind spot. I have to reposition it later but itll do. Happy to have it.
MiNi Beast Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 Mine is about the same windows and all. Paid 40 and was happy with. <---need one with topper now.
