MJXJjeepguy Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Curious, how much weight on that trailer? Idk about ur Michigan DMV rule on homemade trailer as i know my state DMV rule i have to take it scale to weight out and do some paper work before i could get homemade trailer title. Just wonder.
Pete M Posted July 4, 2019 Author Posted July 4, 2019 It was originally built and titled in colorado (by a previous owner) and I can only say that it falls in the "weight/fee category" of 500#. I've got no idea if that means it weighs as much or is "rated" to carry that much.
Pete M Posted July 7, 2019 Author Posted July 7, 2019 lookin' good with a new hat! Huge thanks to Will for hooking me up I cannot wait for my next camping trip!

Pete M Posted July 23, 2020 Author Posted July 23, 2020 the other day I went back to the junkyard and grabbed the 3" lift leafs from that XJ. not the whole packs, just the Super lift leafs. today I spent waaaay too much time outside sweating and didn't even get one side finished. hopefully tomorrow I can wrap it up and see where it sits. the hope is for about the same height but with an overall stiffer pack. other items on the to-do list: -remove all the random brake lines -install some turbine rims -replace the rusted spare tire carrier with a functional one -I'd love to rewire it up with a 7-wire loom so I can power for in-bed lights
Pete M Posted July 23, 2020 Author Posted July 23, 2020 now with greater load capacity, better roll resistance, and some snazzy turbines with tiny crappy tires.

Pete M Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 only one is a trailer. but I've rescued a bed or 2 from the junkyards.
Pete M Posted July 24, 2020 Author Posted July 24, 2020 spare tire hoist has been replaced with a functional one. also visible is the AAL
Pete M Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 got a surprise upgrade to the correct license plate lights
Pete M Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 some days my genius knows no limits. so I've been fighting with my bent tailgate on my bent bed for years now (push in with your body weight and yank hard on the handle at just the right time) and today it finally dawned on me I can just nip off the end of the latches. now it's a one-handed operation.
Pete M Posted August 24, 2020 Author Posted August 24, 2020 so one of my crappy tires on the turbines has a slow leak so I traded them out for a pair of my Rubicons. I like it. can't wait to pull it with the Liberty!

Good luck finding one of those in that kind of shape around me. southern junkyards are pretty cool. I just wish that I was junkyarding down here like 15 years ago. lord only know how many nice parts were just thrown away.
MiNi Beast Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Lord only knows how my nice parts i destroyed if I had only know of the calling for stock parts.
Pete M Posted September 20, 2020 Author Posted September 20, 2020 finally matched up with the Libby again. rocking 7 Rubi rims while rollin' round the town
Pete M Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 it never gets old picking up an MJ bed with an MJ bed trailer.
olddude Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 Question, How do get the truck bed on the truck bed?
Pete M Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 get the yard to use the forklift but if I'm at the house, I screw a couple 2x4s to the existing 2x4s to make a ramp off the side of the trailer. they don't weigh much so it's pretty easy to slide up the ramp.
olddude Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 I was just kidding, Were they is a will there is a way. I remember pulling a bed off my old 54 GMC and mashing a finger pretty good
