WahooSteeler Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 When you need 3/4 truck to pull your 5th wheel but you've only got a 1/2 ton truck!
gogmorgo Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 It’s just a converter dolly. But slightly less sketchy-looking than this one: Or worse, this one: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a30296894/chevy-silverado-ticketed-towing-long-trailer/

Pete M Posted September 25, 2020 Author Posted September 25, 2020 can't remember if I shared this one yet, but it's a classic and deserves another showing if I have
buxmj Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Thanks for sharing Pete, I hadn't seen it yet. Did you take the pic? That is wrong on so many levels that may cause some very bad things happening before they got to their destination. I would not want to be behind it but would worry trying to pass it even if I could do it quickly. Buck.

89 MJ Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 So here is one I saw on the way home from work today. No Oversized Load signs or anything with stone lights on it. Or any sort of brake light or turn signal and it hung halfway into the oncoming lane. The white truck behind it was the spotter for the guy pulling the garage. He would move into the other lane and stick his head out of the window and wave for you to pass if it was clear. The back of the garage hit the ground on every bump. It was sketchy. Sorry for the potato quality, I had to zoom in on it.

New approach: Moe, Curly, and Larry take their automotive repair business on the road with a "Mobile Garage" service.

Pete M Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 don't mind me, just making a run to the scrap yard with some stuff I picked up on the side of the road...

sammisox Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 A few years ago I helped a friend move out of college and we used dollar store rope and tape to hold her bike on my roof

Boggles the mind, really. 3/4 ton Ford with a 1/2 ton chev behind. I wasn’t quick enough on my phone draw when I realized what it was, and oncoming on a divided highway means no chasing it down for photos. There was not a lot of clearance between the brakes and the road.
89 MJ Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Imagine how poorly some of these vehicles drive with all of this junk strapped on them.

Guy on the sidewalk "Hmmm, not sure that's gonna work buddy!" Guy on the sidewalk "Where are the straps that keeping from going through the back of your skull when you have to stop?" Owner "The straps said they are rated for 12,000lbs, that's why I only needed one set " Owner "Tire sidewall said max 50psi.....pfffttt, they hold 100psi just fine"
