HOrnbrod
I'm glad they stated this is the first clear look of the new 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL, otherwise I would never have known what it was. It will have a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel V6 engine available. HOrnbrod
it's the most aerodynamic wrangler yet! :D Actually that's probably a true statement Pete. There are several subtle aerodynamic changes to the body and they removed a lot of weight to try and improve mileage. But what's with the exterior rear view mirrors? They look like barn doors hanging off the sides............
DirtyComanche
I'm guessing they changed the mirror style and sizing, so they've covered them so Hyundai doesn't steal them for their next car. So is this a whole new platform? Or is it still a JK? The idea of a turbo diesel does something for me, along with lightening up the fat pig that the JK is. Edit. You called it a JL. So I'm guessing new platform. I wonder what, if anything interchanges.

schardein
I guess an EASILY lowered windshield went away when the TJ came out, but to me this is a big deal. I lower the W/S whenever the weather and trail permits. One of the things that makes a Jeep what it is.

gogmorgo
If that's the 3.0 Ecodiesel in the ram 1500, that thing will fly. I like it.

DirtyComanche
Are they going to price/package this like the Eco-diesel Ram? Probably... Argh. I DON'T WANT POWER EVERYTHING! Stripper model with lockers and a diesel, that's what I want...
gogmorgo
I drove a Ram 1500 with the Eco-Diesel and 8 speed ZF auto trans. what a frickin rocket!!!!! I had one at work from October to May. If i kept my foot out of it (not easy) I was looking at almost 30mpg on the highway, 23ish around town. Then I switched to a better-paying job with the same employer and now share a V6 Colorado... Better than the 4-banger Colorado I guess but not quite the same as the Ram.

DirtyComanche
I bet there will be a more upright grille offered by the aftermarket within 3 months of them being on the dealer lot. Plus an Angry Birds one, an Optimus Prime one, and a Bro-Brow version, as the JK currently has.
