cbreiter
Bought this a bit ago, and fixing it up for my grandparents. Anyone ever seen one? The brand is R&R and the model is Side by Side.
Pete M
neat! any idea how old it is?
cbreiter
I'm thinking it's from the 70's. It's got 3 speeds for each person, and has front drum brakes. It also appears to have had signal lights at some point in time. I haven't had any luck finding any pictures to show what they should look like. cbreiter
Lol, the engine has been thought of, but I think I'm going to just get it ready to go without one. If I were to put one on, I'd put this one on: It's a 2 hp lauson

jeeptruck636
Here you go. Not a lot of info on it. This is pretty cool considering R&R made bmx bikes and frames in the 70's. *Image is from the Canberra Bicycle Museum
Doc.
Now that you know how rare it is it has to be restored and can not be modified. So where did you find this odd ball? Get it "cheap" cause none knew what I was or did you have to pay up for it? Would be interesting to have a stock one to go off of, and then build a custom version. jpdriver1
Those were very popular in the 70's along pacific coast highway here in So Cal.

cbreiter
I hadn't realized there was so many replies to this post, lol. Since a lot of parts were missing, some modifications have happened, although most are bolt on modifications. cbreiter
I bought it cheap enough, $200. Had no idea if it was worth a lot but had seen other 4 wheel bikes for over $1500, so I figured this would be a lot cheaper. cbreiter
It does remind me of it too, actually had contemplated about seeing if I could buy one before I found thisSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
gogmorgo
There's an outfit in Wasagaming, where I used to live, that rented out similar four-wheel bikes. Tourists loved them, but they were a pain in the @$$ in traffic. Imagine a bike that's as big as a car so can't run anywhere other than the road and you need a full lane to get around it, operated by the typical cyclist by which I mean completely ignoring traffic rules, blowing through stop signs, etc. If the speed limit wasn't 30km/h I imagine there would't be many of them left to rent out... cbreiter
Well, this has signal, and tail lights now. Probably will be upgraded to a rear disc brake soon too. Possibly a small electric motor too, lol.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
