kansashogan
A little update. I hit a deer on the way to work yesterday. Luckily it was a small one and had it's head down so all it did was crush the bumper and crack the header panel. The only other change lately is I added a Holley carb. Have about 3600 miles and going strong. The first thing I thought of after I stopped was that I hope I didn't mess up the radiator. That thing was expensive! 81Chero
Hey Sir. Errol here.. Finally got to read through. Great and jealous!! Would you mind posting some pics of the front end clearance between the front axle and oil pan and the rest of the suspension parts? Thanks E
kansashogan
Give me a couple days. It is almost dark by the time I get home. I don't know what an 8 hour workday is anymore.
81Chero
No hurry here. Still having issues with this wiring crap!! And it will be a few months before i get parts ligned up for a swap anywho. Errol
kansashogan
Errol, here are the pics you wanted. I would guess there is about 2.5 inches between the oil pan and the center link. There is about 3 inches clearance between the exhaust and upper control arm mounts.
kansashogan
I traveled to Clovis New Mexico this past week to meet my newest grandson and while I was there I went to a salvage yard to see if I could scrounge up any parts. I lucked out and got all this for $54 and some change. The bumper will fix the damage I got from hitting the deer a couple weeks ago. Hopefully the back window and rubber surround will fix the leak in the old slider. Also picked up the screen under the cowl vent and the trim above and below the grille. kansashogan
I needed a console in the worst way. I think I seen this idea on here and I thought I would try it. Took about 4 hours and $36.
Seegeer
Awesome project. Have you decided on a color yet?
kansashogan
Silver or flat white are at the top of the list so far.
Seegeer
Nice that would look good with either. Accented with black?
benjy_26
How much lift did you get in the rear with the Superlift add a leafs?
kansashogan
I didn't measure it but I would guess 2.5 to 3 inches. It rides stiffer than stock but overall I am happy with the lift. I put new 31x10.5x15 tires on it and there is plenty of clearance but It is 2wd so I'm not flexing like some guys.
benjy_26
Good deal! Thanks for the info!
kansashogan
I wasn't quite happy with the power of the stock 350 so I upgraded a bit. I ran across a set of low mileage (5000) Dart/Summit vortec heads and a matching intake. I also bought a Howards 267 degree cam with .450/.450 lift. While I had it apart I decided to put all new bearings and rings in it for a budget rebuild. It is more to my liking now, though I do wish I would have went just a tad bigger on the cam. Other than that I haven't done much.

kansashogan
Thanks, that means a lot. I bought a new Z-71 Colorado 4 months ago and I still drive the Jeep more than it. My wife thinks I am crazy.
kansashogan
I finally got an appt. to get her painted. White it will be. The guy is going to mix white in some rhino liner and apply it up to the body line across the bottom. He is also going to rhino line the bed. I have been busy ordering all new rubber trim and seals for the doors. He is also going to replace the rear slider with a one pc. I will finally get my upstairs back when I get it all put together. Super excited.
Appstate97
What kind of radiator setup is that? I'm new to the Comanche game.
kansashogan
I bought it from Novak. Fits really good and it will hold 180 degrees all day long on a hot Kansas day. Expensive but it's install and go.
Jeep Driver
Where did you find your new overflow and washer bottles?
kansashogan
The washer tank is the factory one. The overflow is from either a '94 or 2004 Grand Cherokee if I remember correctly.
kansashogan
Well, here it is. It's not as good of a job as I wanted but It's better than it was. I still have to get the back window put in and reseal the front, then some other stuff and the interior.
