neohic
The elusive Archer Racing SCCA front spoilers are soon to be out of production for good. Many have asked... few have purchased... fewer yet have been produced. If ever you've wanted your own piece of Jeep Motorsports history, now is going to be your last chance. So... here's the scoop: I just got off the phone with John Archer and he says that he is doing a final run of their original front spoiler. He's got enough buyers lined up to justify the price of production that he's given the green light. Right now, the number is still up in the air as to how many will actually be produced, but it will only be for as many as they need to fill the order... that means no extras will be left behind for future stock. They are produced from hand laid fiberglass and these things are thick and very good quality. Here's the kicker, he wants to be producing in about two weeks. The price was set at $450/spoiler plus shipping. Group pricing breaks aren't really an option due to the fact that it's a local boat shop that shuts down their usual production to make these. John asked me if I'd post up something to get a number put together of how many to potentially expect. If anyone is seriously interested, now is the time to speak up. Pete M
sigh... yet another painful reminder of the cavernous gap between "want" and "can afford" :(

Alexia
I would be in for at least one. Maybe two. >_>
HOrnbrod
In a historical sense it would be nice to have one of these. To actually run one on a street truck though it wouldn't last long as low as it hangs. If I were going to actually use a front spolier, I'd rather have something like this:
Comanche County
I have a V8 MJ dragster build floating around in my head...one of these would be perfect.

Yes, the Archer spoiler would not last on the street or a parking lot.
HOrnbrod
That's the Hesco "delivery truck". 4.9L stroker with an Eaton supercharger. I got to drive that thing around the back streets of Birmingham a little bit. What a blast. It's retired now.......... http://www.hesco.us/customergallery.asp?action=form&formID=1725&recordID=90227

HOrnbrod
ComancheKid45, you have to put one of those on Walker.
yellaheep
Holy crap why so expensive??? Shipping on top of that? Dammit. I'm out. I REALLY need one of these for my raceTruck project but that's a silly price. I can't justify using one of these on the track only to have it mashed by some track debris and then I'm out $450. I'd be a buyer at $250 a copy I suppose, but not $450. Cripes. Maybe if I were building a museum truck...... Would John consider selling the molds???? I hate to suggest kicking the Archer's in the nuts, but maybe someone will get one of these air dams, make their own molds from it and offer re-pops to the rest of us. Perhaps with openings to make brake cooling vents.... I guess I'll have to stick to my '90's Bravada spoiler and late model XJ front bumper hybrid idea. And NO......... Walker does NOT need one of these. Totally wrong....... hope you were kidding Don.

neohic
When do we have to be in by? Probably sooner than later. End of next week? Would John consider selling the molds???? He told me that the molds have been touched up over the years a few times already. After this run, he claims that the mold just might hit the end of the line. ComancheKid45
Sorry Don, i couldnt do that to Walker. If i had an "Archer" themed truck though id be all over it! I love the OEM look on Walker too much.
HOrnbrod
Guess I got my track/stadium vs. offroad racing mixed up. The paint scheme is similar though, si? The air dam sure looks nice on the above.

87Warrior
Wow, what an incredible opportunity to own an original piece of Jeep racing history. If I had the inkling to build a street truck, I would make sure I got one of these. The cost? Seems reasonable to me. All parts built by racing teams are pricey to start with. At the Shelby Heritage Center in Vegas a danged gas cap was $100 when I toured a few months back. Add the boat shops need to make $$$, Archers need to make $$$ and the very low demand for the part, the $450 price tag seems reasonable.
