What Year Is This Truck?

I'm thinking about buying this truck.  Here are the pics I've received so far.  The owner says its an 86.  Is there any way to confirm that from these pics?  I was really hoping for an 87 or newer.

Yep. 4.0L, no C101 -- it's a late '89 or a '90.

The only way to know for sure is to check the vin. The door sticker could tell you build date, although they're often illegible and its possible the door got swapped at some point. Emissions stickers will give you model year.

While it takes the fun out of the game, you should probably ask for the vin. Check digit 10. G=1986, H=1987, J=1988, K=1989, L=1990, M=1991, N=1992.

You should post up some details and asking price.  Members here can confirm if its in range or not.  

 

My 2 cents:  If the owner doesn't even know what year it is...then you should be paying less than its worth.

I ain't noticed a difference in the unibody and frame and suspension in my 86 just the 2.hate and how hard the parts are to find
