ComancheKid45 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Now that is something id love to have! Awesome!
Butchershop Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 That should be the "Official Comanche Club" bus!!! Paint it up and take it to car shows -- line it up by club trucks! Take up a collection. I'll donate $50.
Alexia Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I would take out a small loan to get this thing. *Drools* That and I really want a get away from home toy.
mountainman Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 wow THAT is bad asssss. oh man. I hope someone here gets it. I'm facing 3k out of pocket dental costs right now, so my manch upgrades are on hold. But this would be epic to have. its CLEAN too.
MancheKid86 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 i seen this on CC about 2 years ago, SIIICK we just assumed that is was an amazing retro fit, but factory built? BADASS
johnny quest Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 at the VERY least, someone needs to go take pictures of every square inch of that thing; inside outside top bottom...
expeditionnw Posted November 13, 2012 Author Posted November 13, 2012 that sucks, I was going to go down tomorrow morning and take some shots. Id love to know how they modified an MJ unibody to one ton extended chassis standards.
HOrnbrod Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Fixed the link. "A factory built MJ motorhome." Must be the Spirit factory.......... Check out the rear overhang past the axle. Wonder if it's on a MT MJ chassis?
knever3 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 It looks like it has real 1 ton axles front and back. Look at the bolt pattern and spacing not to mention the offset of the front wheels. I love the idea but the cab would be cramped for long hauls. I loved our family's 23' Winnebago motorhome. Sometime I would like to own one myself.
yellaheep Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 That's the same RV that we talked about in this thread: http://comancheclub.com/topic/33068-dually/page__hl__motorhome?do=findComment&comment=333544 I'd love to own it too. But I'd need to drop a chevy LS engine and trans in it or maybe a Grand Cherokee 5.2 or Durango 5.9 in it........ that thing has to be a DOG on the highway. Can't imagine trying to drive over the rockies in it........ $5500 sure seems pretty high priced too. I'd have to jump if it could be bought in the $2K range.
mvusse Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 $5500 seems right as a collector's item (and this thing does fit the bill). As just a motor home it is high as a friend of mine just bought a 26 footer with 3/4 bath that sleeps 8 for $1300.
neohic Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Check out the rear overhang past the axle. Wonder if it's on a MT MJ chassis? I dunno... looks to be an awful lot of space between the cab and the rear wheels.
JENSSEN Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 GOD DAMN!!! I would love to own that!!! I agree with the engine swap idea, but how cool would it be to pull my race jeep to the track with that!!!! Price wise,.. if its in VGC inside and out I see the value,..
johnny quest Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 the overhang looks emense. if these werent so rare, (do we know how many exist?) id put in a 3rd axle in tandem behind the existing rear. and JENSSEN, mine would look amazing behind there too!! 4bt conversion with dually d60/14bolt swap....
jakeWI Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I actually want this thing! Been looking into RV's and now I really want to sell the ZJ and go pay cash for it. Short flight and some gas money!
Dadinator Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Well, if you bought it, give us more pics. I'd like to see the inside...
mountainman Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 WINNER!!!! Now i just hope it stays all original and doesnt get hacked with some engine swap. its too cool to mess up. Def moar pics. The twin fingers pic is awesome. pirate style!
expeditionnw Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 holy crap, ben bought it? sweet! How much did he give for it? whats the frame like? still a uniframe all the way back?
Darren Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Ben paid the full $5500. Dude wouldn't budge. It's in really good shape. He has a build thread up with pics of the uniframe splice job.
