Even the newest of the new

brandy spanking new

1992 MJ

is officially.....

a 20 year old vehicle now.

What is the actual date of the absolute latest one that's been found?

We should have a Comanche bash somewhere to celebrate it's birthday. image_209027.gif

How many MJers here aren't even 20 years old yet

I'm just glad I can now register all of my MJs as Historic in MD to avoid the Communist Republic of Maryland Auto Inspectors.

My Comanche will be 25 this year. Technically, it's my wifes. She bought it before we were married. So, it has lasted longer than our marriage - which is still going strong. I hope it continues that way.

TW, Where in MD are you?

Don't the "historic tags" come with restrictions on driving?

There was no such thing as a Jeep Comanche when I got my license. :)

Back then my daily driver was 13 years old and cost me $500

Now my daily driver is 23 years old and cost me $2300.

guess I was smarter @16 than I am at 43.;)

Huh, I never saw this post....

BUT, I am located in Queenstown, MD on the Eastern Shore.

And yes, the "historic tags" come with restrictions on when, where, and how much you can drive per year. I don't intend to follow the restrictions like the rest of the folks around here that tag their vehicles as historic. I wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting my 1992 MJ through an MD inspection.

Do they tone down the safety inspection on older vehicles? I looked at the list of items that MD can fail you on and off the top of my head I know my '92MJ would fail for loose/sloppy steering and no headliner (although the headliner issue should be fixed this week and I know I can do a bandaid fix on the steering).
