Blue88Comanche Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 our 5 month old beagle puppy has been sick for the last week or so and has had several trips to the vet. today we found out that he has acute renal failure, ultrasound shows abnormal kidneys, one not even functioning. the doctor is going to keep him over the weekend on IV treatment but he may not make it. the transmission in blue was finally replaced but apparently its bad, sounds like someone dumped bolts in it.. 1st and 2nd don't work 3rd and 4th sorta work, 5th doesn't, and reverse is hit or miss.
MJRemi Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I'm very sorry to hear about the pup. I love dogs and had a pair of beagle brothers several years ago. I got them at 8 weeks old and they were great dogs.
sinkrun Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Thats is tough I have 2 beagles and a beagle redbone mix.
BebopComanche Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 That's a damn shame on both counts. Our last dog was a blue tick coon hound we had for eight years before we found out she had an inoperable tumor, and had to be put down. Hope everything works out on both fronts.
jeepdoggydogB Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 :( Sorry to hear. Hope your pup pulls through
pitbull4x4 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Sorry to hear about your puppy. We have our first Pitbull for 7 years. She got really sick and we put her down. Very sad day for us. I hope she pulls through for you and your puppy.
TylerJY Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Sorry to hear about your pup, hope everything works out, if he/she is the dog in your profile picture, that is such a cute puppy.
Comanche County Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 My favorite dog, got one for my daughter. That stinks about your pup.
streetjeep2.5 Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 So sorry to hear about your puppy. Dogs really are a super delight. Sadly the more "pure" bred they are, the more physical problems there are. Hip displasia (sp?) cancers, etc. Mutts generally live longer. Had one for 18 years once, but have had purebreds and 12 years has been the max with one. Others? 7 years to 8 years.
Blue88Comanche Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 the doctor called this morning said that Chaos is showing signs of improvement, but is still in high risk
jimoshel Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 In 1957 I got a Beagle from a breeder in Old Town, Maine. He went from Me, to Spain, to Washington, to S. Carolina to Oregon, to Hawaii to New Mexico with me. He was the most stubborn, contrary and loveable dog I ever shared my life with. Really cried when I buried him. 17 years old, old age got him. Certainly hope he makes it OK. A hug, scratching the ears and petting does more for a dog, any animal, than any vet or medicine can do.
Drahcir495 Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 the doctor called this morning said that Chaos is showing signs of improvement, but is still in high risk  hang in there Chaos
Blue88Comanche Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 Words can't tell how sad I am. Chaos was put to sleep this morning, he was in much pain and both kidneys failed. He will be missed and always loved.
TylerJY Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Hang in there bud. R.I.P Chaos, you will be missed.
