Harry O
I purchased the truck about two weeks ago on a whim. It runs great and I don't have any complaints other than I am new to the Jeep world and I am very unfamiliar with what the truck is equipped with. I tried to decode the VIN and did alot of research online but I figured that I would ask the pro's. I would basically like to know if you guys can tell me what is original and what has been swapped out? What tranny, transfer case, and axles do I have? Has the interior been swapped out? I contacted Chrysler about the VIN and I have a build sheet. It says that the truck was 2wd. Who ever owned it before me has done 2wd to 4wd conversion. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Geonovast
HOLY FREAKING PRETTY  Transmission is the shotty Peugoet BA 10/5. T-case is an NP231. Front axle is a Dana 30, rear is a Dana 35.
88pioneer
Lets see, Trans appears to be a Peugeot BA/10-5, T-case is an NP231, Front axle dana 30, rear dana 35. Interior was changed, according to the build sheet it came with a bench and mini console. All the chrome has been swapped on, says the front used to be color matched. Slider is original, vent windows aren't. Overall though original or not, thats a very sweet looking truck, and your interior is a mirror image of mine bit tan. Sweet truck man

sinkrun
Ok the more I look at this the more I like the chrome and since the only factory rear bumpers left are chrome I just might have to consider being a chrome freek myself.

The dash trim piece had to come from a pre 97 XJ, and IIRC (don't quote me on this) the Briarwood and the Wagoneer XJ's had the wood dash trim. The pedal covers do not appear original either, but who cares about those anyway. EDIT: BTW, that is a really clean truck you have there.

Rymanrph
You have foglight, defrost and rear wiper switches from a XJ, but no fogs, defrost or rear wiper.

Eagle
Looks pretty good to me. As noted above, it appears some dash trim was swapped in from an up-model Cherokee. The front grille and bumper look original to me. The rims and the rear bumper are aftermarket. The shift knob is aftermarket, and so are the cup holders on the center console. kastein
Looks like you're missing the Comanche badges from the fenders. Also, I could swear I have seen that one posted on here before. Did you pick it up from a dealer who had placed an entirely unreasonable price tag on it? I think it may have been wrecked but whoever put it back together did a pretty nice job. Harry O
Well thanks to all for helping me identify what has been swapped. I think the first order of business now that I have researched a little more is to swap the tranny. I am headed to some of the local junk yards this weekend to see what I can find. I would also like to thank everyone for the warm welcome.
Eagle
Did they also come on Briarwood/Wagoneer XJ's or are they exclusive that that trim package? "They" above referred to XJs with the wood grain dash bezel. That trim also came on the early XJ Wagoneers. I had a 1984 that came with that trim. This truck is too nice to modify. shelbyluvv
Did that Jeep come from a car lot in North GA? The "Jeep Store" maybe. If it did check everything on it. They are a VERY shady dealership. I think that is the truck my buddy at Fortech in Roswell GA put the YJ rear bumper on.
freakjeep93
You have foglight, defrost and rear wiper switches from a XJ, but no fogs, defrost or rear wiper. also it looks likethere may be the "power /comfort" switch for an aw4 but the trucks a 5 speed.
