Caught an ad on craigslist for it at $550 and drove it home for $400. 4.0L 5 speed everything works killer. Wobbles from the front after 40 mph. Thinking tires or bearings. Any Ideas?. Pics as soon as it gets light!

Sounds kind of like the deal I got on my MJ. 88 4.0L 5 spd. 4x4 long bed, paid $400. Could have drove it home but it had been sitting for a while and I didn't trust it for the 30 mile highway trip home.

Guess I'm dumber than you guys.

I bought the one in my sig, for $500 off of the MADXJ yahoo group. Drove 150 miles, bought it and drove it home.

Its not the first time I have done things like that. I have had to call for a tow 60 miles from home before.

I forgot to add congrats on the MJ. Welcome to the asylum.

Am I the only original owner here? I paid $8486 for mine back in Oct of 89. It was a lot of money for me at that point, but averaging it out over the 16 years and 140k miles, it's been a real bargain. If all goes well, I'll have it another 10 years or more, I still love driving it.

Yeah, I was 5 when my truck was built. That's alright, it has just as much life experienceas me, and we're teaching eachother about being a proper jeep owner. I keep fixing and she keeps breaking.

Paid $800, but since the Down East flip kit aqnd D300 were worth more than that by them selves, I got the 350, SM465, propane setup, and rest of the MJ for free

I'm a second owner. The PO stood out in the street, waved and shed a tear as I drove her away.

I'm the same. First vehicle, first Jeep. The PO stood in the driveway with a tear in his eye, staring longingly at what was his MJ. My MJ was built May '89, I was born Aug '89 :)

That has NEVER happened to me. Most owners were HAPPY to see it go. :D Of course, everyone I bought one from was owner #2, 3, 4, maybe #5 or more. :D
