JeepcoMJ Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 repainting the wheeling truck. pretty much set on going Emerald Green. probably all rattle can but with the proper prep it will look good and hold up fine (plus I can keep a touchup can with me) now bare with me...I did zero prep on the tailgate. bought a can and sprayed to see what it would look like. I will sand it down and clean it before actually doing the final coat. here's my friend Jake's (JakeWI) cherokee...same color and yes, we're back to the shotty cell phone pics for the purpose of this thread....the digi cam decided to hide itself. yay or ney?
jtdesigns Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Looks good on the tailgate but not on the xj,, sure its the same color? might be the thumb pics but it looks darker on the gate.

I really like the color...that xj actually appears lighter green than it actually is

WahooSteeler Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 an emerald green jeep? yeah that's a "rare" color on a jeep..........................NOT. ;) Granted, not many MJs like that, but I think jeep got a deal on that color for XJs from about 96 on. you put WAY too much time in to your rigs to even consider any other opinions on something like color...........point being, paint it whatever you want

I didn't say it would be rare...I just like the color. the only other thing I thought of painting it was a semi-gloss military green and putting a shark mouth on the fenders and grille like an old war plane. but, I'm not military so I thought that would be somewhat disrespectful...and it would also look tacky on a ground vehicle. plus...most of my stuff ends up being "nice" so I figured it would keep that theme going.

That idea would look killer on a truggy with sloped in front fenders!
shelbyluvv Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 It looks good Pat. I have never seen a emrald green MJ either. Should be different than the crowd. I think I will be painting mine deep amethyst just to be different.

shelbyluvv Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 I got to looking and 2 tones just don't look right on a shortty. If it was a long box then I would be doing a 2 tone. After I sale this one I will be building another one, but it will be a long box.

jpdocdave Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 i don't hate it, but had to vote that way, just not a green fan. edit: although, that may tie into your interior pretty slick right?

BLHTAZ Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009  Dark Green or Dark Blue...either one are my favorites.
jpdocdave Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 i changed my mind. that could be really cool, your interior is already sweet right, power everything and i think you have tan and green seats, and some wood trim if i remember. paint that color, w/ a tan stripe. and get either sahara stickers, or up country stickers. and have the first sahara or up country mj. and your interior already goes with it.
GreenF350 Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I voted for green, but I'm a little biased. Maybe my avatar will give you an idea of the finished product.
HOrnbrod Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 I had that color on my now deceased 96 XJ and liked it okay, but don't care for it on an MJ. But like the others, I think it's a good color to compliment your interior.
garmj Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Green has always been a good color for a Jeep. The Army can't be wrong. :D
