vaquaro Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Replaced the entire wiper assembly :headpop: I've already relaced all the bushings twice and a new wiper motor last january ( ya the linkage arms were a little iffy but decided to attend to that later ) . Not the brightest decision because the broken spot weld eventually stressed the new motor to the point where it burnt out the bearings on the "new " motor  Well its my own dang fault , $ 200 fixed the situation , bought a complete new wiper assembly w/ motor ( all new ) ....My old cowboss ( Al , he's the guy on the right in my avatar ) always said " a short-cut is the longest way to any where " , sure enough true !
comanche12 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 walk pass it and do nothing since I'm on budget now :(
AMCJeepMJ Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Parked in the garage it until I replace the drivers' seat belt.
dasbulliwagen Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 Ordered lifetime warranty Autozone Duralast tie rod ends and drag link today to try to get rid of my death wobble. I will install them saturday and then give it an alignment.... I hope this works. If not, next will be ball joints and control arm bushings.
Pete M Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 re-parked the 90 and 86 (moved them to allow access to the downed tree). They had both been parked slightly downhill and the recent storms had dumped some water in the beds. So after re-parking, I hooked the trailer to one and then the other to weigh down the backend and help drain the h2o. With any luck, this evening I'll be able to work on the 88. Still need to reorient the rear axle so I can hook up the driveshaft. Debating on doing the 3rd member swap to the open diff unit sooner rather than later. The spool is driving me nuts on the pavement. :ack:
comanche09 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 -Replaced original and rusty power steering hoses and plumbed in a power steering cooler from a '95 Explorer. -Vacuumed interior after a muddy weekend :brows:
beepbeepmyredjeep Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Bought a Clutch Master Cylinder. Going to try to install tomorrow.
jteckmann Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Finished up my rattle-can paint job. 2-3 coats of Rustoleum ultra-flat camo paint (khaki color), refreshed the Herculiner with a touch up coat, blacked out all the trim, and touched up the fender flares.
mrsinister Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 ugh, drove mine the normal 35 miles to work. Ive put 4K miles on it in as many months.
dasbulliwagen Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 Just finished wiring in my power windows, power locks, and power antenna.... THEY ALL WORK!
freakjeep93 Posted June 9, 2010 Posted June 9, 2010 took a couple busted bolts and the yoke for the u joint out of the steering box thats going onto my truck. also wire brushed the flakey rust off so i can paint it later on when i have paint.
mvusse Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Replaced the old leaky Siemens fuel injectors with a set of Bosch ones from http://www.precisionautoinjectors.com/. Have not driven it yet, as the breather elbow on the valve cover fell apart on me, but it starts much easier and idles much smoother now. Anybody know where to get an elbow that fits? All the junk yard ones are dry rotted.
beepbeepmyredjeep Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Replaced the clutch master cylinder, bled the line, and took it for a test drive.
bermsurfer230 Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Clicked over 201,000 miles last weekend! Woo Hoo! But today I cleaned my MJ out, vacuumed, replacing the weatherstripping around the door now, and then washing it! It'll look brand new! (Except for the peeling clearcoat...) :D
CWLONGSHOT Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 I changed the oxygen sensor. To the best of my knowledge, that was the factory stock sensor! I also got my Centramatics in the mail yesterday, so those went on along with the set of RUBY rims and MT/R's. The tire size is stock Ruby, 245x75x16's. So they are just over 31" tall. A might smaller then the 32+" of the 33x.5x15 BFGs that I took off. I can live with that... I think. :dunno: Then I had to make a repair to the exhaust. Like many of you guys my center mount on the tranny for the exhaust is shot... I made up a new mount from the front of the cat with a U Bolt and a piece of steel. Its a solid mount, but so far is just fine. CW
dasbulliwagen Posted June 12, 2010 Posted June 12, 2010 Went into work this morning to install my new tie rod ends. Got my old ones out no problem, went and assembled the new ones and tried to install the right side rod, and it wouldnt bend up far enough to attach to the pitman arm. Turns out the joint end wasnt machined correctly to allow the ball to have enough articulation in that direction. So I assembled it all with the old rod, and new ends at the other three locations, and put it on the alignment rack. I eyeballed it pretty darn good while assembling, as the cross rod to the left side took little to no adjustment to get the two sides parallel. The toes is almost perfect, the camber is a little negative on both sides but not enough to worry too much about, and the caster is just under 5 degrees. Less than I would like it to be, and it will probably be worse once I put on my new shackles on the rear. I need to find some caster shims and get another right side rod end, and new rear shackles and Ill align it again. Finished up and drove it, the steering wheel isnt perfectly straight but it rides much smoother than before. It will be much better I think once I get the caster where it should be. The machine says it should be 7-8 degrees. I'm not sure yet if any of this has taken care of any DW since putting in the dana 30 front axle, but I guess Ill find out soon enough.
landlubber Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Put a subwoofer in it; rockord fosgate P1, its not bad. Actualy it was a few days ago, but i have been neglecting the forums. oil change tomorrow if the weather is halfway decent.
fiatslug87 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Went from this To this Also did the drip moldings
CWLONGSHOT Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Replaced breather elbow and upper radiator hose. Where did you find a breather elbow? JY?? CW

I agree, if your getting DW after the lift and your Caster is only 5 degrees. Could defineately be a large contributing factor. Couple other comments confuse me. Nothing you could do to the shackles will have anything to do with the front end of your truck. Camber is not adjustable. Unless you want to try those fancy balljoints. As for shims, you can make them if you cannot find them to purchace. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoAlignment.htm Good luck, CW
freakjeep93 Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 CW your jeep looks awsome with the moabs and MT/Rs
JeepcoMJ Posted June 13, 2010 Author Posted June 13, 2010 Picked up a 91 sport parts truck with automan, scored an mj rear slider latch, full console mj insert, and fog/cargo bezel plus a cargo light. Then when I got home I started the wheeling truck to move the parts truck and noticed white smoke...smelled sweet, shut it down, discovered brown coolant and sweet tasting oil. DAMNit...8000 miles on that motor, it's a mopar reman, and at best the head gasket is bad. Crap
