what did you do to your MJ today?

Put a windshield wiper switch in, which involved pulling the steering wheel and componets down to the bare column. Looked at the situation with putting the automatic transmission in where it was a manual transmission before and wondered "Am I going to be able to do this?"

almost drove it into a brand new bmw head on at 70 :rotf: :rotf: there was an army hum vee on on the interstate and he was driving slow. passed the car following him, folowed him for a minute then pulled out to pass him. i threw my truck down in fourth and gunned it. i pulled around him and he took it personally :dunno: he got faster and so did i, but he was driving toward nothing, i was driving toward a brand new bmw :ack: i pulled out before i put the beamer in any dangerr but i still managed to irritate the driver. it was a fun little game of chicken, which i actually one sence the beamer got on the shoulder wayyyy before i got to him

 That is exactly what my truck would look like with that lift and bumper...I have the exact same grill setup on my MJ, blackout with chrome on top and bottom. Is that factory paint? It looks alot like my paintjob too. Very nice.

Yeah that's factory original, including the decals.

Someday I'm going to get it repainted and have the decals redone to factory condition. The clear coat is wearing off some and the decals are a bit faded.

I had the automatic transmission all the way installed in place of the manual transmission driveshaft and all. Took it back off to see what the fluid poured out of the front for, and found the torque converter seal was mangled and the sleeve was worn. I made sure the pump was lined up when installing it.I will try again with new seals. I have the transmission control box and the wiring harness to it, the power/comfort dashboard switch(wiring for it was already behind a blank panel). Conected to the control box wiring is the wiring to the transmission. An open plug in by the fuse box where I suspect but will research to be sure that is where i will be wiring the other hook-up. I think I can make this swap happen. If the neighbors will quit calling the cops every time I crank the truck with the muffler not hooked up that is. Who the hell goes to bed at 8 pm??

Havent' done anything yet to the mj. But I'm planning on putting in the other front Gaberial Guardian shock in.

UPDATE

Got the shock in.

Put the shocks rubber insulators under the seat brackets for a little extra height.

Not a pretty picture down there.

Fixed my electrical issue after "friend" provided an improper jump start. (crossed the cables)

i read that thread :( did your "friend" help you fix it any? or atleast help you get a ride home?

No, but he gave me a check for all the parts that I bought to get it up and runnin' so we are square.

Mine got a good "going over" today!!

Spent a couple hours underneath with a wire brush and a couple cans of Black Rustoleum!! MAN the salt is tearing up my truck!!! Almost every weld I made was rusting! Its much better now!!!

I changed the tranny Fluid, T-case fluid, Engine oil, Power steering fluid and I finished up changing out the brake fluid. I did the Axles a couple weeks back.

I have been having troubles with the ECTED for most of the winter.. trouble was it doesn't work!!! I pulled the DS and checked the operation of the ECTED. its got 12V and seems to be just fine. BUT it doesn't lock... I was remembering that this was a clutch limited slip that simply compresses the clutches to lock the axle. Well, I'm thinking that the clutches are about gone so it cannot lock any longer. When I installed it you could not turn one wheel with out the other, simply the limited slip was so tight, you couldn't "bias" the axle by hand. NOT NOW!! Its so EASY to turn one wheel against the other you can do it with one hand!

I think I'm gonna replace it with what I should have bought to begin with, a full case Detroit locker!! NO NONSENSE and always works!!! I'm thinking to pull the ECTED, install the Detroit and send the ECTED back for repairs then pedal it on EBay. Lessin' one of you fellars wants it...

THEN, I installed a switch on the winch so its able to be turned off.

Lastly while I had the drive shaft out, I changed the universals. The one at the back of the T-Case was squeaking, so I changed out both as well as cleaned and painted it while it was out!

It has stock gears (4:10s I'm told but I have to open the diff to be sure) and it's a dog on the highway. But you don't go with bigger tires because it'll drive better on highway. It does fine in the dirt and ok on the rocks. I'm going to put in 4:88s hopefully before summer hits.
