just trim off whatever your tires are hitting ....do NOT trim the control arms!

"Garnet" and "Cordovan" look real good when you mix them. bench, belts, and floor mats out of my '86 in the '87 and am very happy with the results. nice to know the names as well.

sorry to hijack. :dunce: my query was a bit too far off topic. but... shackles might make it worse. Look into the AALs that hellcreek is making. They fix the sag. Pete please elaborate. if i have an xj with a saggy rear a bb kit that utilizes shackles would make problems worse? pm me if I'm out of line with this post

'86,xls, 2.8, tf, 207....well...usta have that stuff (d35 is a great trailer axle)

while were on the subject of budget boost... ive got shackles and coil bushings from a manche i parted, and am thinking about tossn them under my brother in laws 97 xj. should i expect any complications in the install? (rear springs are a bit sagged, hopen to level it out a bit)

what are your specs? lwb... engine, trans, t-case, axle... this info is just as important as lwb or swb when asking about drive shafts (put it in your sig) soa shouldnt cause vibes. check your u-joints then check the angle of your pinion vs the angle of your output yoke. a slip yoke from a yj? iirc is a bit longer

i considered the s-10 dually flairs but was more interested in the s-10 step side bed, and have a running WTB for a utility bed on a local board. i figure ill buy another mj to suit the bed when i find one. a good comanche is ezer to find up here than a utility bed that someone is willing to part with even though I'm offering to buy the whole truck to get the bed.

i switched to the 10w30 in my '90 and it is much happyer. i do change it often as tme tranny is starting to get old under my heavy foot, and it doesnt come out like new

96' Booster/master question??
akamcbird replied to ncgamedog's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Since you're installing the 96 booster/master in a 91 MJ you already have the "new style" brake switch - no mods necessary. There are no mods necessary for the booster-to-pedal rod either; just bolt it on to the brake pedal. You may have to buy a new retainer clip for the booster rod as it's hard to get them off w/o destroying them. You will have to fab the new brake lines from the new master to the existing combination (not a proportioning) valve though. what years did they change to the "new style" brake switch? and what years are mods necessary for the booster-to-pedal rod? and can the combination valve be swapped for the xj prop valve? (assuming the height sensing valve were removed and the lines were run like the xj) ...does this thought make sense?
