Wouldn't an extra heavy flywheel do exactly the same thing? Just a question Are you building all three strokers exactly the same? What cam are you using for best low end? I kind of think the stock Renix era cam set for 8 degree retarded is the best I have seen for low end torque.

That is the problem with bench racing and the butt dyno. No real difference, but it just "feels" better. Placebo effect. When I get home, I will take a real "stroker porn" picture and see about posting it. A Jeep 4.095 stroke crankshaft. Good for an extra 14 cubic inches on any stroker. Up to a full 5.0 if you like.

Don, Only natural for mom and dad to worry. Did my share when my son was in Kosovo and Iraqi I know.

Here is the way to go if you want a diesel: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=431357 Tons of parts, excellent reliability, way more power than the OEM diesel. Well proven path. Tune the engine for 160 to 175 hp, torque from 285 to 315 lb/ft, Only requires a later stock turbo, a retune and some larger nozzles. No muss/fuss, keep your foot out of it and it drives like stock. Put your foot down and it will scoot like mad. Keep the stock 4.10 axel. If you don't want it, please send me the contact information

suspect you are talking about this diesel MJ: It was a red 86 with a bunch of extra engine parts, blocks etc. http://comancheclub.com/topic/48123-86-comanche-diesel-vancouver-island-bc-can/?hl=diesel It is red and was sold to someone else on Vancouver Island who has also posted here. As I recall it was having issues with the brakes. He got it for his son and the kid kept getting stuck all over the place with the truck. Seems it was back around December/November. The guy was thinking about selling it rather than fixing it.

Just to get an idea, I went to the web site of the pick n pull yard in Washington state. Their price for a standard rear wheel drive transmission is $99.99 plus a core charge of $29.99 That is an as is where is transmission. It is a starting point for you.

First, I am not a fan of the metal shells/toppers. But I have to say the 3 way access to the bed is nice. The single rear access to the bed with most shells is a pain sometimes. And the light weight of the metal shell is a very real advantage over the fiberglass shells. My factory SnugTop is strapped to the rafters in the garage for the last 3 years or so because I have been using the truck without the shell and it is just a real pain to drop the shell back on the bed. The fiberglass shell is heavy even for two guys.

Have to ask first - what are you trying to accomplish? Is it that you want to have some "special" or "cool" headlights so you can be seen when you drive down to the malt shop? Or are you trying to get better vision on the road at night? If you want better vision - then do the harness upgrade first. Then do some research on lights with a better light pattern than the stock sealed beam. There are lots of them, from brighter sealed beams like Silverstars to the latest LED headlights like the Truck Lite or GE Nighthawk LED headlights that Don has (http://comancheclub.com/topic/46238-ge-nighthawk-led-headlamp-eval/)

This seller tells you exactly what he is doing - "just seeing what I can get for it." At least he is honest about it. Offer him what ever you think it is worth. But plan on replacing the engine with a later 3.4, 3.5 or 3.9 version of the GM v6. Then deal with the transfer case. The window is not a big deal. Any pre 97 Cherokee can supply the replacement window.. The most likely use for this truck is simply as a parts truck.

Brakes are the most important thing on your truck when you are towing. Using a tow dolly with brakes is excellent! That will also solve your tail light/brake light issue. Surprisingly cheap too. I rented a Uhaul tow dolly for 2 days and $75 last July to tow a car back from Vegas with the Comanche. Watch your speed and leave way more room than you ever think you will need. Getting a buddy to drive it for you is quite smart also!

So about the same cost as here. Except for cleaning the undercarriage. I paid around $125 just to get the undercarriage and engine compartment steam cleaned. Best of luck to the new business.

Don, What does a full detail cost in Alabama? Does it cover a fresh coat of wax on the outside?

Can you please post the link? Thanks,

Krustyballer Fabrications
johnj92131 replied to shelbyluvv's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Bo, You should also post a picture of the near stock rear bumper Krusty has made for his own truck. He is making one of those for me and I think at least one other person. It is both strong and very good looking. More importantly, it is available!- 197 replies

None of us wanted to see what happened to the old thread happen again. That was what I took as the main point in Wombat's post, I made a smart @$$ comment about the words "arm chair fabricator", then when I read Wombat's post - I edited my post and suggested Wombat might want to edit his post. Exactly what he did, promptly. We cleaned up our comments very quickly, which is why most of you did not see them. Bo, was not aware of the edits when he took action. So now you all know the full story.

Yes, there is a thread a couple of years old now, from a fellow in Latin America with a 1992 4 seater Comanche. Same type of add on as in your link. Will have to search for the old thread, but it is here someplace.

ATK HP25 Engine Swap COMPLETE!
johnj92131 replied to parkia86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Glad to hear of your good experience. And that ATK took care of the problem when it came up. Everybody has problems, the important thing is how they fix the problems. One problem with internet reviews is that they tend to be done mostly by unhappy customers, not the satisfied customer. Nice to hear from a happy customer. A couple of questions if you don't mind. How much did the shop charge you to swap in the new engine and where are you located?
