Most, if not all, dynos are corrected to Standard Temperature and Pressure by the dyno software. Any decent shop has their equipment calibrated from time to time. These things make test results from one day to the next comparable. Well within a reasonable margin of measurement/error. Even with 6 pulls one right after the other, no two pulls will be EXACTLY the same.

School me on spring options.

OK, makes sense. Axel to body is the factory correct measurement for lift. Flares to ground measurements include spring sag. Not a valid measure of Spring lift alone. Important distinction. -

So correct me if I a wrong Eagle. By going from the axle/hub to the centerline of the bottom of the flare - all this eliminates is part of the tire size and the deflection from tire pressure???? It may eliminate both tire size and wheel size by 50% or so. Right? But if we are talking simple before and after only a spring change, why isn't the fender flare to ground change a valid indication of the spring lift. The spring is the only thing that has changed right???, Even if Comanche "A" has 31 inch tires and weak old stock rear springs and Comanche "B has stock 225/75x15 tires and weak old stock rear springs the fender flare to ground measurement should be useful as long as the "new springs" are the only change in the before and after measurement. No?? -

Replace those battery cables ASAP. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Comanche Club member mean lemmons will sell you a great set of heavy duty cables. -
Congratulations to mom and dad on Liam's birth.

Dodge Dekota gas tank replacement
johnj92131 replied to Kickin’Chicken's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Get a bunch of baking soda put it in the tank. Fill with water. Let sit 24 hours or till bubbles stop to nutrilize that acid. Rinse and power wash again. THEN repeat with fresh baking soda. Murattic acid is VERY strong and persistent. -
Pete, That is exactly right, down to the exact color!! Suspect the car lives in La Jolla, since the 52 Freeway starts there and ends in my neighborhood. Lots of exotic cars in La Jolla. Maybe it was getting warmed up for the La Jolla Concours in March?

Spotted a very rare car yesterday driving home on the 52 freeway. A green Lamborghini 350 GT with original mid 60's black California plates. Did not manage a picture, unfortunately. Looked like he was out for a test drive. I followed the car for 6 miles, then he got off the freeway and back on going west. The V-12 was burning some oil on the right bank. But the left bank was running clean. According to Wikipedia, only 120 of these were ever made. A very nice looking two seater that looked good, but not exotic like later Lamborghinis. I actually drove (meaning parked and filled with gas) a Lamborghini 400 GT in 1968 when I was 20 years old in 1968, working in Beverly Hills.

Dodge Dekota gas tank replacement
johnj92131 replied to Kickin’Chicken's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I assume you are confused because the tank says 16 gallons???? 3 straps EQUALS a 23.5 gallon tank. If your truck is a short bed - order the 18 gallon replacement tank. If your truck is a long bed - then you can also order the 23.5 gallon tank. BUT only if you truck is a long bed. Both take the same fuel pickup. -

If your fuel tank is rusty, why not just replace it with a new Comanche tank? Lots of them on Ebay for about $100. Then get your existing fuel sender repaired/rebuilt. Seem like the easiest solution from my point of view. -

About 5 years ago, my Comanche was stolen from a friends house in Tijuana. My friend's brother in law was a Tijuana cop. Within 12 hours, the truck was recovered. Cops found 4 guys stripping the truck and managed to catch one of them. The fellow got 7 years in prison!

Kickin'Chicken, Here is a link to a How To: Refurbish your fuel sender article in the DYI section: You many want to read the article simply for a good understanding of what the problems are with the fuel sender. -
I have had a couple of cars stolen over the years. It just really sucks. Most of the time it is just some STUPID Chump who needs a ride a few miles and the car will be recovered in a week or so. One time I found some Fellow in the middle of trying to steal my car and managed to scare the you know what out of him. He took of running up hill and left my car with some cut ignition wires.

Key thing here is lining up the door seam gaps. If the issue starts with bad hinge pins, that needs to be fixed first. But that may not be the problem. I spent many hours trying to adjust the door latch on my Passat with no good results. Finally took it to a shop. They told me to give them $50 and come back after lunch. So I grabbed lunch and the door fit like a glove. Sometimes it is just both smart and cheap to pay a pro.
