  1. Just a shot in the dark but since you said the motor tilted back maby check for a pinched metal fuel line ? Also did you try starting fluid and see if it pops on that ? Also is there perhaps a different CPS for the ba10 and the ax15 ?
  2. IIRC a 93-95 camaro will work, I used a 94 when I swaped mine a few years back and it was the best thing iv done to my jeep . here's a good link to read about the swap http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Project_XJ/Project_XJ.htm Also here's a link to my build if you wanted to see what I did http://comancheclub.com/topic/5194-project-fubar/
  3. So you ordered the edelbrock headers ? If so can't wait to see them !!
  4. $500 sounds way steep for a silly down pipe ! You try shopping around ? Also you try and see if a s10 pipe would fit , or be close enuf to make it work . Iv been wanting to buy the edelbrock tes header system but it's kinda pricy and I don't think you can get it anymore.
  5. KCCO !! I always do a preliminary walk through with just a few tools on me and scope things out before draging a bunch of tools in with me , usually just have a a flat head and filipes head screw driver , a pair of pliers and a 6" crescent wrench . I do almost the same thing at swap meets , run around up and down taking a quick look at stuff and make note of the "wants" and "needs" and gauge what I should spend my money on .
  6. Iv been in the same boat ! I ran into a bunch of issues when I swaped my engine in my manch and I even had to step back and let it sit for a wile so I didn't loose my mind ! That's also why I finaly got my self a cheap dd as I didn't want to drive something I always had to work on ( I'm a mechanic by trade and working on my own junk is the last thing I want to do most days ) . But be warned that the grass isn't always greener on the other side .... So in the beginning of March I needed a new dd as the totally beat to crap pos 87 2wd danger ranger that I was driving wasn't suitable to haul both my kids this year home from school I set out to get a good 4dr car . So my parent neighbors had a 1997 v6 camry bought new with only 85k on it an I thought great I'll take it but they wanted more than I had so I passed but they are good people and said that I could have the car for a $1000 ! So I pased on another good deal I was working on cause this was way better . Never in a million years would they sell me or anyone else a pile but that didn't stop the tranny from going out on me 3 months later ........ Twice !!!! 2 new transmissions later and iv got way more into it than it's worth and its a stupid camry ! So to me... A $1000 spent on a new rebuilt ax15 is money well spent / invested into a great truck that you know what's in it , just my 2cents .
  7. I DD my manch with a welded rear did for 2 years before swaping out the 35 for a 44 , it was a lot of fun ! Wile it was very predictable it also would put you into a slide in the blink of an eye , I got caught off guard a few times just making a simple turn off the street . I always felt it had the ability to make a better driver out of you , knowing how to handle the vehicle in different situations .It's not for everyone that's for sure ! I certainly liked it better than the lunch box locker that was in for 4-5 years that broke , then I just welded the locker in place and all was good.
  8. I swapped a set of "large valve heads" on my 2.8 a few years ago and didn't notice any real gains though it wasn't a DD anymore at that time and with all the other mods it was kinda hard to tell if there was any real gain . Now when I swaped to the 3.4 then it was a night and day difference !
  9. I agree , I'd slap a clutch in it and be on my way ! And if the 2.5 ever gets completely worn then I'd just do a clean and simple rebuild on the original block and be on my way again. No need to complicate things and I'm sure you have plenty of other projects to attend too.
  10. Nothing right now though you inspired me atleast go out and start it as it ain't been started in probably 3-4 months so thank you for that .Iv been spending a lot of time with my mom and family lately , my mom just passed a few weeks ago so things are starting to settle down now and school just let out so I'll have more time to monkey with things as I can leave work earlier . I'm actually wanting to focus my energy on my 1975 Ramcharger as it is in serious need of some TLC . I will keep y'all posted on both projects !
  11. That is so cool !! That is totally my kind of ride !
  12. Yup !! You got it Pete .My Co Pilot's in charge of any inflight activities other wise there Jim :)
  13. Nice, let's start a "How many places on an MJ can you open a beer" thread.[emoji481]This has to be the best front axle upgrade iv done to this jeep so far !!
  14. That's absurd ! I just told the guy at the machine shop what I was doing and asked to have it balanced and all he said is it was going to be a couple bucks more than normal as he had to grind off the majority of the weight before starting the balancing process as that is not a standerd step included . Sounded fair to me , and has worked perfect since. There is the possibility of using a neutrally balanced flywheel from a later s10 as those were already balanced , though I don't have a part # for ya I do know they are available .
  15. I just went through a grounding issue with my manch a few months ago after I burned the ground strap from the cylinder head to fire wall , my problems may or may not be the same as yours but this is what I came up with . Wile driving and after hitting a bump usually the lights , stereo and sometimes the engine would cut out . I figured it was a power issue so I started cleaning all the power and ground connections along with the bulk head and all other plugs . What I didnt see was the main battery cable to the starter had rubbed a 3/8" hole in it and after all other connections were clean and having moved that wire around a bit the whole thing went up in a ball of smoke when I hit the key . After that I fixed the cooked wire and added 4 more grounds to the engine at various points as it turned out I only had the one that burned up.
  16. Sounds like my 2.8 when I lifted it 4" and put 31" on it ! What a freaking dog ! I drove it like that for probably 4 years . I regeared to 4:88 and and never looked back ! First I ran 33" then switched to 35" and it's still just as fast . Just stuff 4:88 in it and be done !
  17. Did you bench bleed the master befor installing it ?
  18. They are holding very well ! I tried to cram them into everything I could including stuffing it against a 10" steel pipe sticking up and pivoting around it , I still don't have any supports beyond the cab portion but I haven't seen any problems as of yet . Once I add the extra slider I will be tying it into the exo cage as they will be done at the same time . The rear section under the bed isn't being supported by anything!? I thought for sure you ran some tube back to the frame lol that's sweet its holding up with just being tied into the cab though Yup it's just hanging out there but its maby 18" or maby 20" long IIRC , I want to tie it in but I haven't come up with a clean effiecent suport system that isn't going to become an anchor on the trail or look all half ended . The slider is also 3 / 16" thick and it its self is very ridged and can with stand a lot which is why I chose it as it is also my air tank and is caped with 1/4" plate on the ends .

  20. Thanks ! At some point I need to get back to work on it , I went wheeling a few months ago and drug the underneath over a bunch of rocks and stuff so I need to start on skid plating the belly .
  21. When I installed my 1 piece axle I jut cleaned the housings out real good and installed extreme alloy outer axle seals and just over filled the diff a bit and ran it like that for 3 years with out a problem till I regeared and had the right seals installed .
  22. I'm at about 8-9" of lift with a 1" drop in the crosmember and the original driveshaft though the swaped in 44 added the much needed 1" of length so I didn't have to get a longer slip yoke.
  23. IMO the ride , howl , whine and other quarks wether they are good or bad are what make driving my jeep on the road more fun ! I'm nothing but smiles when I drive it wether it's sunny or raining out . I'm not saying it's safer or anything but it definitely keeps you on her toes and it is after all a truck ! NOT a car ... So I don't expect it to ride or sound like one but that's just me . I can't wait for the day I can afford some boggers because those tires scream bad @$$ !
  24. Looking good ! You might want to stretch the front axle out a little bit to give you more tire clearance . Mines stretched about an 1.5" IIRC
