Did you take it to have an alignment done after the lift was installed? Death wobble is a very common issue after a lift if it is not professionally aligned. It is also most often caused by out out of balance wheels & tires. If not taken care of quickly it will damage your track bar, tie rods, control arm bushings, steering gear etc, etc... Just an FYI... If it is truly Death Wobble, that means that when it starts, you have to stop the truck to get control again and if you don't stop...you are going to die...or at least it feels that way. If you don't experience it in thatway, then you just have a bad vibration and not DW. Either way...get an alignment and have the tires balanced then report back

It wasn't real recent, but mine is a tire story also. I contacted the President of ProComp tires to inquire about a deal on some "blem" tires. I wanted 35" Xterrains for our YJ, but he didn't have any blems in that tire. He instead offered me first line, brand new 35" Xterrains for $85 each  :clapping: . So I got $1300 worth (5 tires) of tires for $425  . They are still on the YJ now...6 years later

Guess he got his beer & smokes

 It's what we do for what we want on these trucks. I drove a 7 hour round trip to get the light bar that's in the bed of my truck because it is exactly what I had been looking for over the previous 8 months ;) .

Relocating the Heater/AC Control???
BLHTAZ replied to Catatonic Comanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
He suggested the spot in the front of the floor console, but there is not enough room there. I can't really imagine a way to do it myself, but with some creativity and probably a good bit of work, you may find a way. -
4.0 HO with the renix computer
BLHTAZ replied to JOMJ87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What injectors did you use? I'm trying to find a replacement set for my 90 MJ. The jobber here wants close to $100 each for some OEM style ones. Did you change anything else when you put the new injectors in to get such an increase in mileage? I used injectors from Precision Auto Injectors. CLICK HERE to see the ones you need. If you purchase from him, be sure to use ' JEEP ' in the discount / coupon code at check out for 10% off ;) . -
The TPS can be tested ( LOOK HERE ), the IAC cannot be tested without special equipment, the crank sensor is not likely in this scenario (but slightly possible), fuel pump is possible, but would not be my highest priority and vacuum is not likley either because of the scenario. One thing that has not been mentioned is the CTS (coolant temperature sensor) that is in the left side of the block under the exhaust manifold. Not a real common problem, but Iwould think should be suspect in a situation like this.

problems with belts - 4.0
BLHTAZ replied to dirtlord420's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Just keep a close eye on things for a while because having the belt too tight will cause damage to the bearings in more sensitive things like the idler, water pump & power steering pump. I think you found a way to stop it for now, but I don't think you found the root cause yet unfotunately. It will likely come back in a couple weeks or so...BUT, let's hope I am wrong ;) -
Yes...you can still get the speedo cable. The info needed to get the right one is engine size, 2WD / 4WD and so you have cruise control. Should be around $45 at the dealership.

I am not sold on the grill/front end look, but over-all...I like it  Reading some of hte comments on that site I found this... :clapping: :rotf:

A couple of you have noticed that the Hats have disappeared. We are going to have to forget about them for this round and I will be sending refunds to the couple of people that have already paid for them. As of today, I have only 4 hats ordered so unless by some miracle there is a sudden rush of at least 21 more hats...it just isn't going to happen...sorry... I will keep the design and maybe we'll try a Hat only order in the near future. Please don't forget...we need all shirt orders in and paid for by no later than days end this coming Sunday...2/15/09.

"Tall" sizes are not available, but there are several of the colors available in up to a 5XL. Let me know what you are looking for and I will confirm availability for you. Both the Black and Gray are available in 2XL  . The Gray goes up to a 3XL if you wanted.

What axles would these be then?
BLHTAZ replied to Jerry's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Agreed...not only are the axle shafts weak, but the housing is too. Consistently hauling that much weight is going to bend/break that housing and/or the shafts, as Pete said, "sooner than later". -
Dealership retail should be $45. Part #53005421

Good job  Now that you found that, I do remember someone else posting of finding the same issue on here a while back, but I had forgotten all about it. I'll have to try to remember it for the next time

It really looks better in person because there is a glare/reflection on the lens of the clock that I could not get rid of.

You could squeeze the 31's in there, but they are not going to have any room for movement. If you put 1000lbs in the bed...you won't be able to drive it most likely. The Bronco wheels are not going to work either unless you plan to use adapters that you didn't mention ;) . Without lift I would not try going any bigger than the 235's...

BLHTAZ replied to Jerry's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yup... :agree: -
There have been talks between Cerebus and GM, Ford, Nissan, Renault and who knows who else. They are not going to sell off one name, Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge are staying together...FIAT is actually taking a 35% share in the Chrysler Corp. with intentions of taking more in the future.

Ready to wrap up & ship... Image Not Found

Yea...everyone is being sucked in to a very big joke. This is one of many reasons that I do not like JP magazine and will never spend another dime ontheir rag. I looked at all 5 links on the offroaders.com site and not one of them even remotely mentions anything about this on the Chrysler or the IH links. If you Google search it...the only place it is found is on this type of site. It's not even on Snopes... . If something like this were in the works, some small-time rag like JP would not be the one to announce it either :rotf:

Electrical Issues.. trying to troubleshoot
BLHTAZ replied to Qui Gon-Jinn's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
 Sometimes you just have to walk away and sleep on it ;) -
Unfortunately...I did the same thing. I eventually found that my problem was a bad ground on the right rear side of the engine block and once I took all those ground wires and made sure they were in the right place and had a good clean ground, everything has been fine. I put my old TPS back on and sold the new "hardly used" one to someone on here for about a $30 loss, but that was better than eating the whole thing at $115 - $120...

CHECK THIS OUT -- incredible... :rotf:
