Better Then Oem Suspenion In Rear
Jeep Driver replied to EzRam's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No fab necessary, I'll post pics later. No fab necessary for a LWB? I picked up the Blazer bar today along with some other parts. All parts have been cleaned and painted. Will install in the morning and post pics. Different bar for the LWB........mid 90s Camaro. -
88 2.5L Tbi Efan And Temp Sensor
Jeep Driver replied to SmthnD1ff's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
One of the things I need to do this summer is replace the HB. Two hoses, two bolts, unplug fan. Less than three minutes and I'll have the rad and fan out of the way. Image Not Found -
88 2.5L Tbi Efan And Temp Sensor
Jeep Driver replied to SmthnD1ff's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have the 2.5 also. Always looking for every bit of power and MPG. Less wear on the pump. No shroud. No fan noise. I can service my belt or pump without removing fan/shroud. Efan can't bite my fingers. Efan's pull is constant regardless of engine RPM. Faster warm up on cold days. I have it on a manual switch too, if I think it's running warm I can just turn it on full time. Another advantage is I can let it run while the engine is off if it's hot and I want to work on it.......cools down completely in about 5 minutes. For most of my driving I don't need a fan anyway. Not a single disadvantage to an Efan. -

I'm running an after market fan, switch is a 195 Spal, and a 180 stat. Unless I sit through more than one light cycle, the fan never comes on. I have no tolerance for a mechanical fan............NONE! -

Oil Filter Part Number
Jeep Driver replied to Dillithium's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Not always. The metric filter will thread on to an SAE filter nipple. It will also UNthread itself down the road............. Couple of years ago when I first got mine MJ I got one of the SAE filters and it did not thread on........later year 2.5 I think it was. -

Manual Ax5 To Automatic
Jeep Driver replied to ownedueasy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Use searchtempest.com No 88 2.5s of any kind in a 400 mile radius of me. They are not easy to find. 2.5 2WD are far more common. You want a 2.5 4X auto...........needle in a haystack. Only 2.5 autos I've seen for sale are 85-88s.......I've not seen a 90+........doesn't mean they are not out there, just never seen one. -

Manual Ax5 To Automatic

The 2.5 auto is rare. I've seen one for sale in nearly three years that I've been watching. I doubt you'll find one, but if you do, get a WHOLE donor and work your way through it, you'll know what goes and what does not. Further, if you do find one, the rear will not match the gear in yours.....so you'll want to find a 4.10 D30. Chances are you'll find a XJ before you'll find an MJ.....2.5 auto. You'll need a drive shaft too......I'm sure of it..... You'd be better off with a 94 XJ as a donor with an AX5. -
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/jeep-non-hardcore/1027840-rear-tail-light-options.html Been looking at these for a while. Trucklite has them to go for about $190 or ebay cheap but used and not 12v nor LED. Kind of expensive for a failed experiment. I've been trying to figure out just how to make them look right on the MJ, the above link gave me the answer. What say you?

Bilstein 33-186542 Spec that for your rear and see if it will work.

Check with mudflaps.com Cheapest I have found. bil-24-188197 front

They are selling the $21 'bellows' as a gimmick in my opinion. The idea that water will not enter the axle or trans housing. There are three on your MJ.......$63........for man who has everything. A check valve on the line side of the breather will insure no water will inter while you traverse the depths of Deep Creek.

Mounting Gas Tank In The Bed
Jeep Driver replied to Incommando's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Older 30lbs tanks are worthless, folks cannot give them away. Look to an old GM for a JY filler neck. Build one for nothing.........maybe the cost of a couple of large straps........or just weld a bracket to the bottom of the tank, horizontally, and bolt it down. -

Mini check valve........$2.00

Get the adapter and the 134a refrigerant and recharge it yourself to see if it works. The compressor will not kick in if low on freon. I'd spend $25 a walmart before I spent $950 at an AC shop.

How in the hell do you guys find these deals???????/ I never come across a deal like that.
-
I have the same set.......the odd wire is for cyl 1 if you have AC and cannot get the straight wire on. I have AC and the straight wire fit fine.
