  1. I simply sent an email asking if he'd take $200.......he responded with 'yes' and a ph#. I have not made arrangements. Before I drive 400 miles tomorrow........just asking opinions.
  2. Well......I just offered the guy $200 for these and he accepted. They are 200 miles away. What do you guys think?
  3. Tow dolly will run you about $40 for the day and find a buddy with a truck. Rollback to Haines City might run you about $125.
  4. Look for the 94XJ SE as a donor.......they are out there......will have the 4.10 front axle too.
  5. Here are 16s on a stock XJ we had.
  6. And the trans is worth $100..........folks just don't know how to market what they have.......or they are just too lazy. But I want the rear end........if it wasn't 750 miles away.
  7. Oh yeah....and you can send me the shift boots and knob.
  8. http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/cto/4273105129.html Show them $400 and I bet they will take it, been listed for a few months. The rear is a 8.25 in 4.11.......thats worth about $200 Take the entire front clip.......scrap the rest for $300 Your swap cost you nothing other than the drag home. Also.......brake master upgrade is here......that's worth $100..........and whatever else you can scrounge off of it.
  9. On the back roads of E TN, you are either going into a turn or coming out of one just to go back into another. I could not imagine running without one. Last Sunday I was in Winston/Salem and hit the PnP there, found the illusive 28mm off and XJ.....HUGE difference over the 25mm. Couple of weeks ago I had the front bar off a 2004 Grand, 1 3/16 or about 30mm but the reach from the mounts to the eyes was too long. I've since figured out how I can use it and I'm looking for another.........hen's teeth. There are others that are 1 1/4 but are hollow.......worthless........seems the 2004 is the only year for the BIG solid bar. Look to the entire suspension as a package, not as individual pieces. For those who say the MJ suspension is not worth improving......nonsense.......but improve every part of it and it will stay planted in the turns pretty well.
  10. These would rock.........Mountaineer.
  11. Let me guess......>>NC? Everyone one on the coast has the pole holders. I want your cap.
  12. Not mine. The truck belongs to Mnkyboy. I want to say he had to have the center up higher due to the trans tunnel. Otherwise, I'm sure they're just sitting on modified frames. I'm hoping he chimes in to connect the dots. Anyhow... I think they look great! Thanks. You cannot beat this deal....little far for me though. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/pts/4347437968.html
  13. Thank you. Is this yours? How did you adapt the mounts? I see the console sits up a little high......any way around this? Thanks.
  14. http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11672&highlight=no-flow+filter No-flow filters are a SERIOUS problem. Above is my thread from elsewhere.
  15. I've noticed you do this a lot. Well then........no more conversations required........everyone can just search from now on.
  16. Try them, worst case is you wasted 4-5 hours of your life. But what else do you have to do on a Sunday afternoon?
  17. Have any of you fitted the Dakota seats to a MJ? What I would really like is a 60/40 bench from a Ranger or Colorado but they are hard to find. Buckets are plentiful but I need the third person seat for my son.
  18. I have one for you, $20 plus shipping. Good shape. jeepmurphy@gmail.com
  19. I would expect to pay $150. Although its been a while.
  20. I've got the tools and experience, penetration is not an issue.......just ask my wife. I wish it were that easy. I can pick up 8.25s all day long here......$150 and a pile to choose from, literally. But all from 4.0s and I'd rather not regear, but is likely what I will do.
  21. I got my truck 2.5 years ago. About a month afterward I found a 94XJ 4WD and dragged it home. It wasn't 3-4 days later the clutch slave went out, so the trans swap happened immediately. When I drained the XJ fluid it was milky and full, at some point it had been in water, at that point I really had no choice, I needed to get back on the road. Point is....For nearly 2.5 the AX5 has whined, synchro from 2nd to 3rd is gone........and she just keeps on...... I can't tolerate the whine anymore. About two years ago I found an AX5 out of a Wrangler in Atlanta for $200 so I ran down there and got it, it's been cleaned and sitting on my bench since then. I've since learned that the Wrangler TC is clocked differently, I'll see about plugging the holes and reclocking it. I'll be making this swap in the next couple of weeks. Moral of the story- 52K miles later........still rolling.
  22. Weight distribution is done ON the trailer. Weight distributing hitches are for trailers with fixed loads.......such as travel trailers. Trailer brakes should do about 70% of the braking......the trailer pulls the truck to a stop. ClassIII with a gross of 5000lbs and a tongue weight of 500lbs.....you are taking it to it's limit......however, know that they are under rated. I'd build one.....I have and I trust mine over a 'factory' ClassIII......used every bolt hole available and do not rely on the factory bumper at all. The MJ would not be first choice and I would not pull 5K on the interstate.
  23. Are you sure your belt is not slipping? We has a 4.0 that had a HB go bad and the pulley would spin on it intermittently........thus not driving the accessories.
  24. This. Or you have a valve that won't close. Also, you say you have not yet done a 'tune-up'.........bad wires or plugs will also give you a miss or rough idle.......same with distributor cap and rotor.
