  1. The question remains- Which one? You are limited by bell housing (CPS) and or 4x TC mount. Anything other than factory will require adapters. I'm looking a year out........SBC swap. I don't want to lose my clutch, no matter what I do, I'm somewhat limited and it's going to be expensive. If you really want a 6 speed, you have one choice..........that's it, as far as I can tell. Or, like me, you'll be looking to spend $3500+++++ It's a good thing you got a buddy, I don't, and no one owes me any favors. My days of buying someone else's junk are over, long over. New, or nothing.
  2. However, individuals have reported problems with the 2005 model transmission popping out of reverse gear. This was widespread enough to garner the admission of DCx that an update may be needed, which consisted of a reverse gear kit (#05175903AA), itself comprised of a new reverse gear, slider and synchro ring, plus snap rings, an oil seal and countershaft seal plug, incidental to the tear-down required. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transmissions/manual/nsg370
  3. Which 6 speed did you plan to use? NSG370When the NSG370 was first put in Wranglers for the ’05 model year, we were psyched. We were excited to lose that huge gap between Third, Fourth, and Fifth gears. We even got a Rubicon to test drive to Moab that year, and the next year we swapped one into an MJ. That said, today this transmission walks the walk of shame. We just haven’t had good luck keeping them alive, and they’re not as durable as the AX15s and NV3550s they replaced. Kicking out of First gear, losing gears, making noise, and so forth are pretty common. And we hear similar stories from friends and readers with these transmissions.Found in: ’05-to-current WranglersIdentify by: Integral bellhousing, the only six-speed behind six-cylinders.Gear ratios: 4.46; 2.61; 1.72; 1.25; 1.00; 0.84; 4.06 (Reverse) http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/1311-manual-meltdowns-jeep-transmissions-we-love-to-hate/

  5. Thank you.
  6. Now I can get on to the cab and the passenger door hinge. If anyone is wondering why I'm paying no attention to the area around the tail lights........they are going away, far away, Sheol, I think .
  7. OK............. If the uppers are original? they are worn, after 28 years, toast. Time does as much, if not more damage, than miles. No, not every shop 'upsales'. They sized you up the moment you walked in the door, they know precisely what you will and will not pay for. For the amount of work and effort.........they KNOW they will not upsale you a $800 front end job. If they thought they could, they would, so, they may not even mention it, regarding uppers. As Don stated regarding TB, either they did not know to look or they knew and did not mention. I would not spend $150 to align a front end without making certain every worn part is replaced and the axle is centered. I've had my front axle out numerous times and I've been down your road........I did the WJ lowers, they are now on my wife's XJ, she gets the hand-me-down parts. Maybe I'm just fortunate, my front axle is straight, I get it damn near spot on before it goes to alignment. My guy charges $60. He'll see it again in a month or so........knuckle/brake swap and complete steering swap.
  8. http://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/BrakeKitAxleFlange.aspx You'll find ends here. No mention of the 8.25 but measure out the same as the D35.
  9. Dropped a valve.
  10. Guess what I'm getting at is this- Uppers, axle bushings, how worn are they? Why would you adjust anything to old and worn?
  11. http://www.store.dolphingauges.com/viewitem.php?productid=14 You may want to consider these, made in FL. The matching tach is also available, should fit all three...........this side of $400.
  12. http://stores.ebay.com/auberinstruments/ For anyone who wants to fill the warning light area with something....................these should fit perfectly.
  13. But no tach?
  14. Adjustable uppers. My lowers are zeroed out, no shims. Adjustable uppers and lowers. Did you change out your uppers?
  15. Install your stat, you need to slow down the flow and give the coolant some time in the radiator, it's there for a reason.
  16. Good shroud, BTW. You could have done with a few less holes..............however...........people don't think to relieve the hot spots..........corners are hot spots. Turbulence is actually created where air cannot flow.
  17. If you're aiming at an exhaust valve..............probably, yeah. I'd run that engine at 180............my guess is you have a POS Stant 195 stat. Get a MotoRad 180.
  18. Who installed your windshield? I talked with Safelite yesterday for mine and they say it won't fit with the rubber.
  19. What are the reasons you are given?
  20. You didn't replace with NTK, did you?
  21. I did some digging, didn't see this page before- http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=214/category_id=417/mode=prod/prd214.htm What could we get done for he MJ and XJ world? Meh, probably nothing.
  22. That's cool. Bluetooth is my everything.............lol
  23. I contacted Wilwood, waste of time. But, may go here- https://www.quadratec.com/products/12710_001X_PG.htm?gclid=CjwKCAjw0qLOBRBUEiwAMG5xMEtuLU5TzATlPUQKyhdvQdE8wCefWmHhLykLAds_22CLYGyLDnrcjxoC6t0QAvD_BwE D35 and 8.25 share the same brakes. I'll have to scrap the dual idea at the moment.
