  1. That's why I posted it! The bullet holes, 2.8l engine and failing trans give it away all too easy. guy has listed it again for $500, bet he would take $400. TN MJ guys want to go in together and save it? :brows:
  2. So I have been having an issue with my DD. 89 4.0l aw4 2wd MJ The issue is at a certain point in the throttle I get this coughing, spitting, sometimes backfire type of sound and a hesitation in acceleration. If I give it gas past that point of throttle it does fine, and below the point and at idle it is fine as well. Starts up fine. I decided to do some maintenance to rule out a few things and changes the distributor cap, rotor button, plugs, and air filter. When I pulled the plugs the old ones had a lot of residue on them. Changed the cat a while back and the issue was still present (thought it might be clogged) 02 sensor is relatively new. fuel pressure regulator is newer map sensor replaced previously I also grabbed a new fuel filter but I replaced the previous one not too long ago and will save this one for when I get a set of volvo injectors for the truck. A repair manual I was reading said that a hesitation in throttle could be a clogged injector? Also when I first got the truck it had an issue with overheating so I had put a really low temp thermometer in it and the temp seldom rises above 160 F.(head gasket, radiator, and open cooling swap took care of the issue but i never changed the thermo back) I had a similar issue to this before this one started but it was much more pronounced and even had the truck where it would not get to speed and would cough and spit and backfire...I finally realized my CCV line was collapsing and I replaced it and then this started. At that point I was glad I didn't have to worry about getting virtually stranded with the truck not wanting to run right but now this issue is getting to be a nuisance. I decided to mess with the line some more and found that if I use a different diameter line I can change the position in the throttle that the issue occurs at. BY THE WAY I have a newer steel valve cover and I also got the larger fitting for the intake/exhaust manifold for the rear ccv line. I am not sure where I should put my time and money in to fix this issue. Your suggestions are appreciated.

I also have a couple of tailgates. Not sure if you are desperate enough to go the shipping route but if you are I would be willing to ship you one. PM if possibly interested and I can get pics for you. $50 + shipping.

    "I'd rather be a ford"....as if. Poor truck :(
  6. I sold that brush guard...it never lined up well and was taking up space in the garage. I got the other seat in and mocked up the center console. I want to put in a hand brake eventually, the foot brake doesn't work. My cluster has stopped working all together , I swapped in a spare and its the same. I think ill end up swapping the entire dash harness and be done with it. Still need to patch the drivers side floor...among other things. Cold weather does not help with these projects!
  7. its near the fuse block off to the left
  8. my 89 manual had them but no tow package, had to ditch them since they moved about so much

  13. When I did mine I didn't want to mess with the factory wiring so I just pulled the motors and regulators from an xj ar the JY and swapped them in. The hardest part is the newer xjs have a really stubborn way of attaching the glass to the regulator so i ended up busting the glass at the JY. To get them power I originally had a set of polarity reversing switches in the dash but running all that wiring to the dash was a mess. When I wanted to make the locks work off a remote I changed over to a bank of relays set to reverse the polarity with a ground signal for either direction. This takes 2 relays for each motor, except I used the same 2 relays for the locks so I have 6 total. If you are just wanting power windows you get away with only 4 relays, I have a wire diagram for the circuit somewhere. To clean up the install I put the switches in a switch panel that goes where the clock is supposed to go, if you are adding a center console there are also several after market center console switch panels to choose from that look very sleek.
  14. At first I was thinking ur truck got attacked by some beavers :rotf:
  15. Ive used them to haul my SWB a few times and it worked well. I don't see why the lwb would have any issues.
  16. I think it is more of a fitment issue
  17. THAT IS SO COOL! LOOK AT THE LITTLE ELIMINATOR RIMS!
  18. Still not quite done but I took an SOS pad to it to try to clean up the lip and the rivets a little and it worked some. Still need to get a stiff brush to get the finer details. Ill tell you though, even though its not polished, when wet in the sun this thing really shines already!
  19. Ive got a set I'm working on now if anyone has any of these wheels contact Keyav8r
  20. How much to build another bench? I got a tailgate :brows:
  21. There is a possibility this one may work, but I have not purchased it. There is a 30% off discount code for advance its TRT30, it may still be active.
  22. I did not have to mess with the cable when I did the same upgrade on my column shift truck.
  23. xj hitch is not compatible.
  24. what sort of line did you use from the back of the new VC to the manifold? Make sure it is not collapsing under the vacuum pressure.
