  1. Nice job!!!
  2. I was wondering if it would be possible to swap the spindles, hubs, rotors and calipers off of a newer (say 97-up) XJ ? I'm not looking for a way to increase braking power just a modern simpler rotor, hub and caliper set up. I did some home work and ball joints are the same from 84-01 XJ's as well as the brake hoses, what do you guys think?
  3. Subscribed, my driver side hinge pins are worn out also. I've thought about going to the JY and grabbing some door shims from another XJ and slipping them into the bottom hinge to buy me some time, I figure it will tilt the door in the right direction and get a bit of the load off of the top hinge for now.
  4. Sorry for your loss, I hope the piece of $#!& thief gets what he deserves and more. :fs1:
  5. Thanks for the info, I've been looking for a replacement myself  . BTW just curious but are the rubber hoses that are capped off with the white plugs in your pic for the gas tank EVAP? just curious thanks.
  6. The carpet and dampening material are rotted out, I had a leak from the fresh air vent but fixed it when I pulled my dash to do my heater core. I should be getting the stuff today so I 'll give you guys an update on the quality, the shipping info says its 29 lbs so it must be pretty good if it weighs that much.
  7. I made my own but removed it, I thought it was a little too loud. I didn't feel any difference in power either.
  8. I had a guy ask me if I would want to sell it just a few days ago as well, he said he used to own one and regrets selling it. He's probably the 3rd or 4th person to ask me if I want to sell it, that always makes me feel good
  9. I covered my firewall, transmission tunnel, roof, doors, and back wall of my cab with rattletrap ( easily found on e bay ) and it made a HUGE difference already I was just wondering if there was a brand that made something better than regular jute padding but after seeing the prices that Dynamat and Boom mat go for I think I'll just go with the this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sft-insul1/overview/ . It seems pretty reasonably priced.
  10. I put Gorilla tape over mine, problem solved.
  11. I'm going to be replacing my carpet soon but will be replacing it with vinyl, do you guys have any suggestions on what brand or type of insulation to use? thank you.
  12. Magnaflow ( part number)14225 dumped right before the rear axle pointing down at a 45 degree it nice smooth sound at all RPM's, not too loud just perfect.

    Rock Auto?

I've used Rock Auto quite a bit and have never had an issue, guess I've been lucky. Now team Cherokee on the other hand :fs1: don't even get me started.
  14. Thanks  those are some really good tips guys, hopefully I can get some time to actually work on it since work and family has been super hectic, I have a large set of drill bits and taps at my disposal so I'll try drilling and tapping first and hopefully I'll report back with a successful outcome.
  15. Thanks for the tip Eagle, the nuts themselves are still there but the threads are stripped. I'll try the helicoil method first then I'll try the thread sert as a back up option.
  16. Welcome to the forum, it's nice to see someone else from Cali here :D . I agree California smog laws SUCK!!!!
  17. How do you like the truck-lites? They've been on my " upgrade list" for a while
  18. I might try the helicoil route, do you guys know what size the bolts are?
  19. I replaced all my sway bar bushings today and the threads inside of the subframe rails were damaged by I'm guessing the previous owner, I don't own a welder and don't know how to weld, my question is if I were to drill a hole on the outside of the subframe to install a nut on the inside for all 4 of the sway bar bracket nuts will I some how compromise the strength of the subframe in that area? I'm guessing 1 3/4" holes will be enough to get the nut and a wrench in there ? Thanks
  20. Another vote for KYB "gas adjust" , I want my Comanche to handle like a Viper so I don't mind sacrificing ride quality :rotf:
  21. Agreed, that's why I haven't done it, I bought it years ago and had a quick look under the truck but realized it would be a lot more difficult than I had originally thought. I've thought about installing it under the hood somewhere but it would be a tight fit and would make it look even more cramped, guess I may just keep the filter where it is and use brake cleaner to clean up the mess after every oil change.
  22. You will have no problems running SpiderTrax spacers with those skinny tires. :rotfl2:  Sorry I meant 235/75/15's :rotf:
  23. True I didn't think about that, I have this relocation kit laying around http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g4985-1/overview/in the garage, I'll see if I can use it and I might just hook up an in line cooler as well and replace the rubber hoses with steel braided line and add some AN fittings, the pan already adds 1.25/1.50 quarts so I don't want to add too much more to the system.
  24. I was looking into buying a pair of Spidertrax 1.25" spacers for the rear but was concerned about the safety and reliability of them, I occasionally haul between 400-500 lbs give or take in the bed for long distances and through some rough terrain and the last thing I need is for one of these suckers to come apart during a trip. I've done my home work on the whole hub centric and lug centric deal and have my mind made up that spidertrax are the way to go. My wheel size is 23/75/15 if that makes a difference and my question is are wheel spacers reliable enough for everyday use and occasional hauling? thank you
  25. Subscribed, I'm on the same boat as far as keeping my oil cool/increasing capacity and relocating the filter to avoid making a mess during oil changes, thanks for the link on that adapter I'll be buying one myself. I've already purchased the Moroso oil pan part number 27862 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mor-27862and a Sealed Power high flow oil pump and pickup http://www.summitracing.com/parts/slp-224-43505 ( Tip- this is the exact same thing as the Melling pump which is also the exact pump sold by Mopar Performance at a cheaper price). I know this may seem overkill to some but oh well It's my truck and my money :D . All this caused by a leaking oil pan gasket  , perfect example of " while I'm in there I should,,,,,"
