Looking for a set of front left and right fenders,I live near Los Angeles and I'm willing to drive as far as 200 miles to pick them up or obviously willing to pay for shipping, thank you.
-
I was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with aftermarket fenders for our trucks? I want to replace both of mine but ever since the popularity of Jeeps has gone up so have the local prices for parts, I don't mind modifying them a bit but ( I know it's almost always a must with aftermarket body panels) but I'm just wondering if certain brands/suppliers are better than others? thanks.

Replacing the heater core without yanking the dash
big66440 replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Pulling the dashboard is really not that difficult, even the first time I did it it took me no more than 2 hours to pull it off and most of that time was spent looking for fasteners and or ways to remove them. -

I placed an order online for a sheet metal shrinker, stretcher on Saturday March 30th and decided to cancel the order within the hour after it was placed so I sent an email to the address provided on their website requesting a cancellation. I tried getting through to someone Monday and Tuesday (phone call) to confirm the cancellation and couldn't get through to anyone. I received an email Wednesday morning with a tracking number stating my item was ready to be picked up by the carrier, I called them again and this time I got through to someone and asked them to please cancel the order and not ship the item, long story short they denied both of those requests stating "the item has already shipped, if you'd like to return it please do so but we are going to charge you a 20% restocking fee". I argued with the operator telling her there's no way the item is in route if the tracking number is showing "awaiting to be picked up by carrier" as well as letting her know I requested for the order to be cancelled shortly after the purchase was completed by email and it turns out the email address on their website is no longer valid or in service. The item was shipped and when I received the order I quickly began a request to return the item, I argued with a few different people to see if they can waive the restocking fee and I even offered to drive the tool to their location so I can get my refund ASAP and again both requests were denied. They emailed me a prepaid return shipping label but it was written incorrectly, the "return to" address was MY home address, this was April 9th and I'm still waiting on them to send me the correct return label, I've called numerous times to remind them I need to send the tool back so I can get my refund and I keep getting the runaround and have even been hung up on by their customer service reps.It seems like this company has absolutely no desire to work with their customers, I've never dealt with such a difficult online seller.

aw4 valve bodies all the same?
big66440 replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I liked mine, it really firmed up the shifts (you have options on how firm you can make the shifts)and it also lets the engine rev higher when you hold your foot in it, considering the cost I would recommend it. -
aw4 valve bodies all the same?

Yup I can vouch for this, if a shift kit is in mind for the person asking the TransGo instructions are Extremely detailed and cover the different valve bodies used for different makes/models. -

Heater Core and Evap Coil Reccomendations

Just an FYI, none of the evaporators from Rock Auto will fit, I tried every single one they carry and none of them fit. I wound up going with a good used factory evaporator. -
Sorry to bring this back from the dead but just to be sure, all you did to wire the XJ motor to the MJ was follow the wires and splice them in accordingly?. Reason I ask is because I just received my new 2001 XJ wiper motor and some of the colors don't match the wire colors off of your XJ's wiper motor.

Thank you, will do.

I just realized I bought a belt routing decal from you last week!

Yes I threw away the ECM causing the issues with the O2 sensors and installed the ECM that was originally in my truck as well as a new O2 sensor.
-
The new sensor is still going strong, it turns out the ECM I had bought on eBay was causing the O2 sensor to fail.
-
I hope some one can help me with these lines that I can't find anywhere ( The increase in Jeep popularity has made finding XJ's at the junkyard nearly impossible). I've included a picture of the lines I need, excuse me for using black to circle it but I'm not to good with computers. I'm willing to do local pick up, or my zip code is 91733, thank you.

Source for A pillar door seal
big66440 replied to pizzaman09's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I haven't seen an aftermarket supplier for that gasket/seal from any of the suppliers. If I could make a suggestion to rule out where your noise is coming from you can have some one tape off (I recommend using painters tape) the different areas you suspect you're getting noise from. I thought my wind noise was coming from the same area but it turns out it was saggy door hinges not allowing the weather stripping that goes around the entire door do it's job. -
You can try cleaning the neutral safety switch, it's very easy to do and much cheaper than buying a new one.
