  1. if you plan to upgrade to disc brakes it should much easier with the newer 8.25
  2. have you checked the clutch soft line? mine was cracked but not leaking and would not go into gear,
  3. if you have an 8.25 from a Cherokee, can't you move the disc brakes from a Liberty? viewtopic.php?f=9&t=34558
  4. it was 68 degrees.... In the house  I my jeep said it was about 87-96 degrees the couple times i drove it yesterday, my room mate is up in Valley, AL this week he said it broke 100 degrees up there.
  5. I bought the Metric Ton springs from Hell Creek and they gave me about 3 inches of lift, and plenty of room for my 31x10.5 tires. the thing with Hell creek is they make their springs, so if they need to put an order in for some steel then you will be waiting a few weeks, but at least you know for sure they are only days old when you get them.
  6. when you do replace the clutch system use DOT 5 brake fluid instead of DOT 3. Dot 5 will not Eat up the fuses. Nice MJ and Welcome to the Club
  7. sounds like it is time to replace it
  8. here is my MJ with a 2 - 3 inch lift and 31x10.5R15 general Grabber AT2 tires on Factory 10 spoke rims "or turbines", i love them
  9. I have the General Grabber AT2 tires on my MJ they are 31x10.5R15 sized tires and only rub the LCA when i make sharp left turns. when i swap to the WJ LCAs that should solve the rubbing for me
  10. for most of us with the 4.0L I6 we swap them because the Dana 35s are weak for that engine, where it be towing, bigger tires or off roading, D35 and I6 don't go well together. some people may never have any issues with their D35s with the stuff listed above but I upgraded because i don't want to risk it. Dad's MJ is pretty much going to be street use only so it will be stack for the most part so the D35 is still ok for that. you should not have any issues being that you have the 2.5L I4. My answer is just a general cover all answer, don't spend any money on the D35. if it breaks, up grade to a D44, Ford 8.8 or Chrysler 8.25
  11. I will give it a check when I get home.
  12. thanks for the quick reply, the TC shifts into the different positions and the jeeps acts as it should in those settings. it's just the indicator light that's messing up. is there an adjustment for it as well? it uses a simmilar linkage system as our jeeps
  13. Dad's Liberty has been acting up, so we took it to the Jeep Dealership for a diagnostic.. anyway Dad has a 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited 4x4, with the 242 TC. according to dad here is what it is doing By one slot off he means instead of normal position indicator light it goes like this: 2wd - Part time 4wd h part time - Full time 4wd Full time - no light 4wd l part time - I can't remember what light it had.. here is a cropped and re-sized report from the dealer the dealer said the TC was messed up and needed to be rebuilt, but that does not make any sense to me why it would be causing the transmission to get stuck in 2nd or 3rd Thanks
  14. I am only about 6 or 7 hours away.
  15. My 2 sub woofers knock mine down. So i keep mine under the seat until the police  I guess the heat of the summer got mine last year.. several times. i will be happy if i can get it to stay up
  16. here is what i did: First i bolted up the Upper Control arms, then the bottom. the axle tube was resting on a block to allow movement while also holding it up. i used a small bottle jack to push and rotate the axle till i was able to push the bolt through.
  17. Reattached my rear view mirror for the 6th time in the past year.... :fs1:
  18. :agree: that is awesome, I want it
  19. cool
  20. "sloppyish" it is now, technically all words are made up
  21. my MJ had a second set of holes a little further back for the AW4 and later was used for the AX-15
  22. I have not personally seen this trap, but he took a wooden base mouse trap drill a hole the size of the blank you are using make sure the primer is centered with the wire decapitator or whatever it is called. and glue the BB on the wire where it will contact the center of the blank. a very basic model I will let you figure out the trigger setup
  23. a forge is simple enough to make and a charcoal power one gets hot enough to melt aluminum. I have done some small things after melting a few hounded cans, its not hard. just requires a high quality mold and not Styrofoam buried in sand
  24. a friend of mine made a trip wire alarm with a mouse trap, a BB, and a 30-06 blank. you could say it got their attention. I wish i had a trail cam Saturday night... and it was the first time in a year i accidentally turned off the motion light too..
  25. How sagged your springs are also factor into it. I got about 6 when I did mine. It had an old 3" pack and now sits about 9" which is too much for what I want. Not too complicated tho. Cut off perch and weld new one onto the top of the tube, just make sure the angle of the perche is the same and is appropriate to your ride height. What did you do to lift the front? don't most of the front suspension components need to be replaced with longer components? control arms, trackbar and such
