  1.
  2. nice, my buddy had a CJ looking orange buggy, first day he blew a radiator hose 3 races in, second day he rolled it on its roof on the second race. bent the headers and a little damage to the hood and a small bend in the roll cage, they should have it fixed to race next weekend at another show.
  3. you have power to the switched wire right? if so just take the constant wire (after market yellow) and put it on the switched (after market red) and turn the key on. it should turn on the radio if everything is working. and it will work fine it will just not hold any memory. if that solves the problem just run a new fused wire from the ignition harness constant 12 volts over to the radio cavity and hook it up.
  4. woo hoo , heading up there Friday. a few of my friends will be up there racing also, you can check out their rigs on their shops Facebook page if you like. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kens-Offr ... 1125154407
  5. your constant should be just that, constant no matter what the key position is. that wire should go from the battery through the fuse and to the radio so it should have the same voltage as the battery. other questions to narrow it down if that does not solve the issue. so you matched up the colors on both the after market harnesses color for color? what kind of head unit? did your stock one you removed work fine? can you plug it back in and see if it still works fine? check the fuses, back of the radio fuse, under the dash and under the hood if you have them. one may have blown but still allow some power through, swap them with a known good fuse. where did you reground? and what wire did you ground? straight from the after market harness? does the radio do anything when you plug it in (cd drive whining noise, any lights)? I know that I had to run a new wire (I forget if it was switched power or constant power) but I could not get power to my stock wire for some reason.
  6. how did you hook it up? did you cut the harness and wire them together? did you get an adapter? what wire do you have power on? in order for it to work you need 12 volts constant and 12 volts switched and a ground.
  7. I have half of one of those sitting in a bucket with some acid outside right now. removing the paint and repainting it. I have been getting a few of them from ebay, there was a whole series based on that truck. cement truck, steak bed truck, fire pumper truck, camper, and I have a few wagoneers I plan on repainting next.
  8. http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2011/04/in ... truck.html these guys did a little review, the have a picture of the conversion in a pretty box with a nice bow in top.
  9. what part exactly would the flange be? any idea on the part number on those or what they may cost? also do you think teraflex would sell just the caliper mount bracket along with the spacers?
  10. RC crawler on drives front tire.
  11. I did before snow hit, no luck. let me know if you run across any that you aren't claiming yourself. Went to candia a bit ago, no luck. Was going to go today but it was pouring. Still looking, would rather get the right crossmember now as opposed to running something rigged and less strong/sketchy. went there last week, all they had were automatics.
  12. tapatalk is an app for smart phones, it is made to browse forums and make it easier to do so on the phones. http://www.tapatalk.com/
  13. I believe they had the main wiring harness, you would have to put in the relay and then get a headlight harness with the fog light wiring. I think they had headlight wiring harness with and without fog lights.
  14. Has anyone done this swap? http://www.madxj.com/MADXJ/technical/te ... csOnXJ.htm wonder how hard it would be and if there is anything special to the MJ crowd as apposed to the XJ in the wright up. I have a possible lead on a 98 ZJ, did they only come with c-clip D35s? Thanks, Jonathan
  15. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18186 I'm pretty sure (%93) the info I posted is correct.
  16. Comanches are kinda rare, but I want stuff you would not see going down the road if you drove around your entire life. no "this is my jeep, it is rare because it has a dent right here, no other has this dent" jeeps like this:
  17. I am wondering how many rare jeeps there are out there. Now I'm not talking about a north west jeep with no rust, I mean jeeps like the one in this thread where most people who know a little about jeeps would have never known they exist. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=29672 and the Jeep van that popped up on craigslist a while ago. so who can find some pictures of them and add them to this thread.
  18. they popped up on craigslist one day, the guy said the used to work at a dealership. he had a lot of AMC posters. I was trying to find a way to digitally scan them and then find a place to make a poster size print out of them but it doesn't look very cost effective. only way I can think to scan them in (without paying an actual company mucho $$) would be to scan them section by section with a flatbed scanner and then piece them together using photoshop. but then there is still the large price tag of getting poster sized prints.
  19. been getting a few more jeep things lately Toys and a buddy of mine whose grandfather owned a dealership when it was AMC gave him these and he gave them to me These two sets of double stacked signs were still in the plastic, never put on display: and the creme of the crop... . . . . . closer of the Comanches
  20. I will be up there the entire weekend with my buddy's shop, hopefully I will have my Comanche at their booth, just look for the big black ugly truck alongside some nicer looking rigs. Randy puts on an amazing show and he tops it each time. Larry quick one of the monster truck drivers is going to be going for a new world record to top the first ever monster truck back flip he did a year or so ago. should be a great show!
  21. The ones I installed were very simple, plug and play, I didn't even have to modify any of the original wiring. So I can go back to stock, if I wanted to, at any time. :agree: you could go back to stock, if I wanted to! H.I.D's need the full 12V's. on my MJ i had to add a piggy back wire harness to support the stock ground wire W/ 14G wire. all the local jeep er have them, 4 xj's & 2 mj's. one of the XJ's had less then 12V's in his stock head light harness. this = a HID light show. like a strobe light. we had to make him a aftermarket head light harness so his parking lights & interior lights work on the stock head light switch & his H.I.D's have there own circuit W/ full 12V's. you could just use the factory light circuit to trigger the relay and then the HIDs would work just like factory lights. unless he wanted them on another switch.
  22. what projector housings are you getting? and what does everyone else run for housings?
  23. nice, that looks damn sexy.
  24. a lift will benefit you off road due to the fact that it gives you more ground clearance for everything but the axle. so you will not sit the body or frame on obstacles when crawling over them. it also allows you to clear bigger tires to get the axles up a bit higher.
